2 Topics Foundmy dr just put me on methadone hcl 5-325 for a 3 level back fusion and was wondering if this causes bad heartburn? I've tried finding the side effects with no luck. ## It will cause heartburn at first.When you start takeing it.I have been on methadone for about 17+ years.It causes alot of things,you will start gaining weight,your teeth will start geting bad and you will stay consipated.That is what i have seen it do everyone i know.Thats what is has done to me.I am ready to get off of this but i have heard some bad story trying to stop.I was told by a friend that suboxone was the best way to detox off methadone.I worry because i have been on methadone for so long.If anybody has a better ideal,i sure could use some adwise.Thanks ## You can detox off Methadone--with Methadone.
