I have been on Cymbalta for 7 yrs. For the last 4 yrs I've been on 120mg per day. I have dealt with many, many side effects, however it helped me so much I put up with them. My FP doctor referred me to a Endocrinologist, but before I could get there I was hospitalized 4 days with pneumonia. Extreme Adrenal insufficiency causes fluid to build in your lungs. Coincidence? My cortisol level was very low 1.3 for for asthma I take a lot of prednisone but will oxycodone or morphine effect my cortisol level ## My cortisol level was very low 1.3 I have severe asthma and take a lot of prednisone and solu medrol question would oxycodone or morphine time release effect my cortisol level ## Adrenal insufficiency is usually caused by taking steroids in high doses and then withdrawing from the abruptly. So no, it isn't likely that the narcotics have had anything to do with it. How much Prednisone do you take, how often do you take it and for how long of a time period? I am on prednisone for 5 years. Taping up and down 40mg to 5 mg. When I am on 5 mg I became very sick and I am going back to 40 mg again. I am trying to stay on 5 mg and slowly become prednisone free. Is anyone there took a prednisone so long and now free from prednisone? I would appreciate all your answers. Thanks. Sorry for my mistakes english is not my primary language. ## Hello, Pandora! How are you? Yes, there are those who have stopped it after taking it for a long period of time, but it usually requires a slow, careful taper under doctor's supervision. The FDA warns that a sudden withdrawal could result in health complications, including adrenal insufficiency, so it is best to be careful and follow your doctor's advice. Is there anything else I can help with? ## THIS IS N...
