Adderall is used in the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. It is also used as an athletic performance enhancer, cognitive enhancer, appetite suppressant, and recreationally as an aphrodisiac and euphoriant. It is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the phenethylamine class.

I have not opened it up but I have taken the brand-name reddish Adderall XR 20mg for quite awhile. This is probably a reverse placebo effect, but the blue one seem less strong oe less smoothe. How long do the therapeutic effects of this medication last? Why mix amphetamine & dextroamphetamine as ingredients? ## According to Standford Medicine, Adderall's duration of action lasts for around 6 hours. They go on to state that the extended release version lasts for 10-12 hours. Source: stanford.edu/medications/adderall.html Additionally, Adderall's peak effects reportedly take place within 1-3 hours - but I'd imagine this figure would vary for each individual. As to your second question, I don't know why they would mix the two different types of amphetamine salts. I can only speculate that each one picks up where the other falls short in some pharmacological aspects. Hope this helps!

trying to find a doctor who will prescribe easily in NJ, who wont ask any questions ## Hi lexie, To my knowledge, virtually any type of doctor can see you for ADHD (pediatrician, psychiatrist, regular MD). Whether or not they want to pursue treatment is up to them and if so they might go for another medication rather than Adderall. Chances are if you walk in and say you have ADHD, then ask for an Adderall script you won't get it because it is seen as what they call "drug seeking behavior". Also, you can't expect them to not ask any questions, because that is essentially part of their job in making sure they give you the right medication and aren't just handing it over to someone who only wants to abuse it. I recently got an internet prescription fill for Adderall 30mg. It as AD on one side and -30- with a vertical line l splitting the 3 and the 0. The pills are round with beveled edges. All the markings are identical to the 'orange' 30mg that are commonly seen but mine are WHITE. Or they appear white to me. I've read that these AD 30mg pills can occasionally be 'pinkish' from one manufactuer but I don't see the 'pinkish' in mine. Does anyone else have any like these? If so, Teva Pharmaceuticals lists this as containing 5mgs of mixed Amphetamine salts, which is a generic for Adderall. My insurance only pays for the brand Adderall pills and does not support the generic. The doctor started me off with 20mg of XR daily. After a couple weeks, those didn't seem to work as well so she upped my dose to 30mg XR. I was looking at the 20mg and comparing what they looked liked to the 30mg. The 20mg had on them M.Salts or something like that the name Adderall wasn't listed anywhere. Both pills are oblong and orange; the 30mg says AdderallXR 30mg right on the pill. What disturbs me is that the name on the 20 mg pill is the generic name and if this is the case, I want my ridiculous co pay back. Do they always come in the orange see through capsules? That's how I receive mine from my doctor. Or do they sometimes come in other colors in regular pill form? i am trying to identify a small light blue pill with N008 on one side and a score in the middle of the other side. I was told that it is a 20mg Adderall. I agree with you all in the difference between the peach oval generic pills vs. the orange round generic pills. The oval ones - I stay focused throughout the day at my job with almost no side effects. Recently, my normal pharmacy who I have picked my prescriptions up from for the 7 years switched to the round orange ones. Assuming they were the "same", I took them. The first day I already could notice a HUGE difference! My biggest complaint was the headaches! Not to mention very irritable, fatigue, weakness. I'm from Texas and I'm wondering if any of you guys have been notified by your PCP about the new triplicate policy? My PCP's office notified me that I have to go in each month for me to get my prescription instead of every 4th refill and I also have to pay whatever amount I pay for co-pay+tripcate and on top of that I'm required to do monthly EKGs. Has anyone heard of such new policy for 2016? And due to the new regulations that have been put in place, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, so a psychiatrist would be required. The best thing to do might be to set yourself up with a new PCP and then have them refer you to someone that can help. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? I recently got the pink round 30 mg tablets and I find they make me tense up a lot more... sore muscles, shaky, hard to get motivated because I'm so distracted from the negative side effects... The only way I like this brand is if I take a Benzo with them to counteract. ## Hi, I think because there is a shortage right now, they are giving out corr brand vs teva(the orange ovals).
