I took adderall xr 20mg yesterday at 11pm and by 11:30 it started to kick in but I felt tired and sluggish on the inside but on the outside I was shaky and energetic and my heart was going fast. I got a bad feeling by like 1am so I went to the bathroom and forced myself to puke it out and then I went to bed at 2am and slept for like 10 mins and I was so hyper but on the inside I felt like crap and so I drank a glass of water and went to lay down so I could try to calm down and I kept getting a sick feeling in my belly so I went to the bathroom and I had diarrea and I went back to bed and slept for 4 hours and then I woke up when my mom came here and she was talking to me and I understood what she was saying but everytime I would try to respond the first time all that came out was what a...

Hi, I have recently moved back to the new orleans area and need a doctor who liberally prescribes adderall. Any suggestions in the new orleans/metarie/ westbank area would be great. Thanks in advance ## Adderall is typically prescribed by psychiatrists and pediatricians, while general practitioners typically prescribe the medication for certain off-label uses. That said, I would consider finding psychiatrists and/or pediatricians in your area as opposed to a regular medical doctor. Reason being is that they are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and many general physicians are reluctant to prescribe controlled substances due to abuse and the heavy regulations that they have to abide by from the government. I know this isn't a direct answer to your ...

trying to find a doctor who will prescribe easily in NJ, who wont ask any questions ## Hi lexie, To my knowledge, virtually any type of doctor can see you for ADHD (pediatrician, psychiatrist, regular MD). Whether or not they want to pursue treatment is up to them and if so they might go for another medication rather than Adderall. Chances are if you walk in and say you have ADHD, then ask for an Adderall script you won't get it because it is seen as what they call "drug seeking behavior". Also, you can't expect them to not ask any questions, because that is essentially part of their job in making sure they give you the right medication and aren't just handing it over to someone who only wants to abuse it. Depending on your approach, I'm sure Adderall will remain...

How does everyone find the Extended Release (XR, ER) version of Adderall to work when compared to the Immediate Release (IR)? ## Adderall XR, maybe I got a bad generic but it's crap, it does not reveal in your system. I hate all XR meds they are awful. My doctor put me on reg Adderall and the quality is night and day, reg last 4 hours that's okay. I take another one, and get the same quality. The xr is weak and seems to last a shorter time than the IR. Everybody is different I know, and I'm no doctor, so take what your prescribed, and please do not abuse drugs, take it like its prescribed. It works trust me. You might have to wait 15 to 25 minutes but you will feel better about yourself. God bless. ## This is a stimulant that is most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcoleps...

Why are so many responders referring to Adderall as Speed? From my understanding, speed is a methamphetamine? Just wondering because I am considering Adderall as a possible alternative to Ritalin but don't want to take Speed! ## Adderall contains Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine, both of which are stimulants, just different from the ones in Ritalin. It is not specifically Adderall that is considered Speed by abusers, but any stimulant drug, including Ritalin. ## Having been diagnosed with adult add in '81, I can tell you ALL C-11 Stimulants are called speed on the streets. The way it was explained to me is that methamphetamine lasts longer and is the strongest of all the amphetamines. I have also read that a person that has used any of these drugs for an extended period of time...

So I am on my 6th day of Adderal that was prescribed by my doctor since he felt that my symptoms I told him about we're due to ADHD. My doctor warned me that this can be a addictive drug and that it is much abused by people because of the high it can produce. So I started doing research and watching video's of people who have used it and I was starting to question taking it. Now that I have started taking it and have experienced what it's like to be on it I really don't understand how people get off on this. I am currently taking the 20mg RX. My first day on it I would say that I could slightly feel that I had taken something but hardly worth mentioning since allergy medication messes me up way more after the first day even that feeling has subsided. I noticed that with ...

I've been taking 20 Mg TID of IR generic Adderall > 10 Yrs. Although some "experts" claim they are very, very habit forming, I MUST disagree. Even after +10 Yrs, I have little problem discontinuing the drug at any point. The same goes for benzodiazepines. Possibly it's because I personally adhere or ingest < is directed or skip for weeks on end. This "abuse potential" may be inherent in some. Personally, I believe it is overstating this possibility to "play it safe". The statement, "Drug abusers typically have the tendency to increase the dosage on their own initiative". Which may be true. Most intellegent folks understand that doing that will simply decrease the effectiveness when it is REALLY NEEDED. ## Hello, Kim! How are you? It really...

I'm a 21 year old female adult who has recently been diagnosed with ADHD. My brother, father, and boyfriend have it so I'm pretty familiar with the topic by now, though I am definitely still learning. My boyfriend and brother both take Adderall XR, which I have tried a couple times. I have found the drug to be very beneficial for me and am more informed on how that works. I would also just like to say, that no, I'm not an addict or just trying to abuse the drug. I do have an actual, verified issue that requires medication. The first prescription I received was Straterra, which really just made me exhausted, really dizzy, and depressed. It also did nothing for my poor attention. So needless to say, I asked for something else. I was recently just switched to Cor 135 20 mg (Tha...

Presently, I don't have a doctor. I have narcolepsy (its prescribed for this) I've had it prescribed in the past, but not from a doc in this area ## Hello, Daniel! How are you? For narcolepsy, you'll most likely have to see a neurologist for ongoing treatment and prescriptions. Learn more Adderall details here. This is a stimulant medication that is often abused and can be habit forming, new regulations have also been put in place to control what a general practitioner can prescribe/treat. You don't currently have any doctor, at all? It would most likely be best to set yourself up with a GP, first, then have them refer you elsewhere. They may prescribe for a short period, until your comfortably ensconced elsewhere. Does anyone know of a good doctor in that area?

So... my Dr. wrote my prescription for Adderall but it had a later date on it than I needed so I went back to get the right one. Meaning I have two prescriptions for Adderall and was thinking of getting the second one filled at a smaller pharmacy, no using insurance. I know you shouldn't do this so I don't need the lecture, I'm just wondering if they will be able to search and tell I already got this Rx filled a week ago. I don't incredibly abuse it. Instead of taking one 30mg tablet per day, I take closer to 3. I do not want to ask him to up my meds. My questions include - will the Dr. get a copy of the Rx from the pharmacy? Is there a database with my name on it saying dates I filled adderall? POSITIVE help is greatly appreciated. ## Yes, there is a database of some ki...

I have a prescription for brand name adderall 30mg. twice a day cant find pharmacy in Birmingham al Carries the brand name please help ## Hello, Micca! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. There are two possibilities for why you're having trouble finding it. One could be occurring if you're calling the pharmacies to ask if they have it. Since this is a controlled substance that is often abused, they will usually just tell you that they don't carry it. This is because they have no way of knowing if the person on the phone is a legitimate patient with a need, or a potential thief. The second might be due to a shortage. They typically occur towards the end of the year due to mandatory manufacturing limits on controlled substance. Each company is ...

My psychiatrist is moving, I don't really want to go through the hassle of trying to find yet another psych. Can a normal doctor give me regular refills of the med's I'm already being prescribed (Concerta and Trazodone)? It's not an urgent thing, I have a few weeks worth of medication left. Sorry, I'm new to all this adhd stuff. ## Hello, Marie! How are you? No, due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, you'll need to keep seeing a specialist in order to continue receiving such medications. Since medications such as Adderall and Concerta can be habit forming and some people abuse them, it was deemed that their use needed to be more strictly controlled. Learn more Adderall details here. I am very pleased to say that I take all three of these great medications. The suboxone is the most important because it keeps me from craving other drugs which I used to abuse. I take 12mg a day. The Adderall XR 30mg is helpful with ADHD and staying alert. It keeps me going all day. And finally, last but definitely not least is the klonopin 1.5mg a day. Nothing else has touched my anxiety or made me feel so comfortable around people. Each med is important, and I would highly recommend this mix for anyone with anxiety, ADHD, and substance abuse disorder. Of course, they’re all controlled substances so you have to control yourself and be responsible, especially with a history of substance abuse. Other than that, just find a good doctor who cares and take them as prescribed. If you ...

Ive been taking adderall for over four years now and today out of the blue I get a call to come in Monday for a pill count and urine. I never had to do this before is this a new policy everywhere or am I being targeted? I have no problem going in but it screws up my work day now I have to figure out how to leave eArly. I just don't get it ## This is becoming increasingly common and it's due to the FDA crackdowns to gain better control of such substances that are commonly abused. Most doctors need to random checks now on a certain percentage of their patients. Learn more Adderall details here. I've recently been prescribed Adderall by my family doctor, 10mg IR once a day. I'm a week in and noticed very little if any real benefit. I'm leary of going back and talking to her because I know so many abuse it and don't want to appear like a drug seeker. Should I wait for my next month follow up or do you think a phone call would be appropriate. I noticed some very mild improvements but they quickly subsided a couple hours in and left me slightly tired. It seems slightly counterproductive to take them when I'm left worse off than I started. I'm not comfortable increasing my own dose even tho I know many take much higher doses several times a day. I'm not sure what to do about the doctor or my dose. I've never taken a medicine that lasted an entire day...

Any one know a doctor around Livonia who will prescribe adderal? I've never had health insurance growing up and have been extremely disorganized and lazy pretty much my whole life. Ive taken it once or twice in my life and honestly felt so much more normal. Like I didn't lose track of anything like I normally do. I could stay on my tasks for more them 20 minutes and just actually feel okay. ## There is never any guarantee that any particular doctor will prescribe any given medication. The only thing you can do is set up appointment, make sure they get a copy of your medical records, and discuss your issues with them, to see what they feel would be best to help you. However, due to its addictive nature, and frequent abuse, it would be best not to ask for a specific medication, ot...

Could someone please help me with a SAFE & UNCOMFORTABL WAY of withdrawing from xanax 8mg/day & adderall 120mg/day? Just started only 1 day ago already my anxiety level is thru the roof ## Isn't adderall Speed? It is abused as speed and must cause anxiety? ## Hi Tonya, The most important thing is to seek the help of a doctor. He/she will be able to help you taper down safely to reduce the amount of side effects from withdrawal. Reducing the dosage by 0.25mg each every two weeks is sometimes recommended with Xanax withdrawal, but like I said, the only way to know exactly how much you should taper (based on your individual needs) requires the advice of a doctor. In regards to Adderall withdrawal, if you'd like additional information on users personal experiences you can al...

I live in white lake michigan and i have united health care community plan. I'm looking for a new doctor who will prescribe me adderall. ## I also need one in White Lake/Waterford Area. Did you find one? ## Did you find a doctor? If so, can you share their name? Thank you. ## Since Adderall can be addictive and is frequently abused, whether or not any doctor will prescribe it depends upon the patient, their medical history, and etc. Thus, there is no way to say that any given doctor will, or will not prescribe it. To have the best luck, you should make sure that any new doctor you see has a full copy of your medical records, so they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, as well as the results of any testing you've had done, and etc. That said, did any of yo...
