I take this tablet regularly for last 12 years as prescribed by the doctor. Hence, I would like to know the side effect of it. At present I appear to be o.k. ## This medication is unavailable in the U.S. and I am sorry to say that other countries do not regulate their prescription drugs as strictly as the FDA does. That said, finding information on them is very difficult, since there are no databases which list them all, like there are for U.S. prescription drugs. safety of dilantin 100mg caps sulfameth trimethoprim 800 160 tabs interaction

Had 3 UTIs this year. Urologist suggested this med be taken daily for a year. I also have epilepsy and take topomax, dilantin, and climazapan. i think it is a terrible idea. What think you? ## Hello, Stepbystep! How are you? The Sulfamethoxazole in the antibiotic can increase the effect of your Dilantin, which does create a risk of it reaching toxic levels. Why did he pick that antibiotic? It's actually not the one that's usually used for this, the one regularly used for a period of time as a daily UTI preventative is Nitrofurantoin, which isn't listed as having any interactions with your medications. ## I don't know why he chose this rx.
