Hi, I am an opiate addict. I have already tried the suboxone route and it was terrible to get off and terrible to be on. I would like to try methadone for awhile and not stand in line. Can someone please let me know of a private dr who prescribes methadone in Portland? ## I'm sorry, but under current Methadone treatment laws, a clinic is your only option. Private physicians are not allowed to prescribe it for addiction treatment or maintenance. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
