My son with autism had been given a hair follicle drug test and has tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine. However my other son who shares the same living quarters etc with his brother test results were negative. I have full custody and know they have not been exposed to either of those substances. Are there any medicines that could cause this false positive showing up in my oldest son? He has autism and takes Abilify and Celexa, also cold and allergy medicines as needed. I am prescribed lamotrigine, buspirone, lexapro, abilify, diazepam, naproxen, hydrocodone, mehylphenidate, nuvigil and sudogest. I tested positive for Methamphetamine after taking 250 mg of Nuvigil daily for 8 yrs. Also I was taking Wellbutrin SR 300 mg and Abilify daily. I am currently prescribed 60mg Fluoxetine, 20 mg Abilify and 10mg Zolpidem, along with 15mg Mirtazapine. I have tested positive off and on for benzos since beginning Zolpidem in June. I have a good friend that takes Cocerta 36.5mg two daily for his ADHD. He has been subjected to a random drug test for 2 months in a row. Both tests have come back for methamphetamines, and I know he is NOT using Meth.This is the first time he has had to test in like 3 years. He also is on Wellbutrin and Abilify.
