My husband has these symptoms all the time. Had been told by a GI doctor to use Gas-X. I also bought baby colic drops. Nothing seems to help much anymore. Had endoscopy & colonoscopy, both normal. ## He may have abdominal adhesions. They do not appear on any type of scans as they are transparent. I had a series of colonoscopies over a 5 year period. They came up normal until the last one where the gastro dr could not get the scope through my intestines. At that point they determined the adhesions had entangled my intestines. Have been taking Eliquis 5 mg 2x day for almost 3 months. Seem to be having Stomach Pain, Abdominal Swelling, Bloating, Gas, Facial Swelling and lots of weight gain and water retention. Also brain fog and memory problems. (It's hard to tell how much of this is from Eliquis and how much from CHF associated with A-Fib. Also taking Beta Blocker and Digoxin.) Eliquis has been out long enough for the pharmaceutical company (BMS) to put out a REVISED list of side-effects, to reflect real-life patients' experiences. i have severe paint in my lower abdomin for more than two years. went to several doctors. all reports show normal. did a colonoscopy n CT scan. it like cramping pain and last for a while. there is so much gas bloating in my abdomen. most of the time, have loose motions or semi and dark in color. dont know what is the cause of the pain. have numbness in my feet sometimes. ## Have you looked into dietary causes? Usually such gas, diarrhea, cramping and etc. are all symptoms caused by foods, or beverages, according to NIH reports. Although, some medication can also cause such symptoms. Do you take any medications regularly? What were the results of the colonoscopy and CT scan?

Hi everyone. Near the end of September, I started a 14 day course of Doxycyclin (the specific brand name was Cyclidox). 100mg twice a day, with lots of water, an hour before meals, as instructed. During the course I experienced severe bloating, trapped gas, abdominal cramps, abdominal pain, and belching (burping). The probiotics I was taking didn't seem to make any difference. I knew that any of the Tetracycline antibiotics, and especially Doxycycline, could have gastro side effects, and I stuck with the pills, after contacting my GP who prescribed them. I have been taking fenofibrate 160mg for almost a year now and I have severe abdominal pain so bad I had to be submitted into the ER and they couldn`t find anything wrong with me. So now I am going to stop taking and don`t care what my doctor says, if the pain goes away I will notify the FDA about this. I have been on Viibryd 40 mg almost since the first day it came out and was one of the lab rats when it was in clinical trials. I loved it because it made me feel normal. I have noticed though for about 18 months I have issues with leg swelling, water retention and significant abdominal bloat that won't go away. I am going to try going down to 20 mg. Any one else have these issues? Did they get better with a reduced dose? I hate to go off because I feel awake and not experiencing almost nonfunctional exhaustion with terrible allergies and weird aches and pains I have without it. It has been known to cause dyspepsia in anywhere from 1 to 3% of people that use it, according to the clinical studies. Can this medicine also cause abdominal bloating, belching, gas? ## Side effects of Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can include having an upset stomach, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and a long list of other undesirable symptoms. I didn't see gas or bloating listed as a side effect, but I can only speculate that it may be related to having an upset stomach or diarrhea. I was just prescribed Rabeprazole 20 mg 1 x / day for abdominal discomfort, bloating, etc. I was wondering if anybody has tried this medication, and what sort of experience they had with it. Basically for the past few days I've been unable to eat without experiencing severe bloating and discomfort leading to nausea and trapped gas that does not want to escape. After a 5 hour visit to urgent care gall stones and ulcers seem to be ruled out at this point because I haven't experienced accompanying pain (thankfully). I have 6 days worth of pills to start with, which will at least let me get on a flight back home in 2 days. I read about it and see that there are several side effects which always make me weary to try a new drug. If anybody can offer feedback it would be appreciated!

My husband is sensitive to medications. When we find one he can tolerate, it has to always be by that manufacturer, otherwise he has abdominal pain, bloating, gas, etc. when he starts a new medication, sometimes have to try several manufacturers before we can find one he tolerates. Manufacturers are changing all the time. Most likely he has a sensitivity or allergy to a filler. Is there any way to find a way or is there a way to find out what causes these problems? I cannot lay in any position besides on my stomach, and I also cannot sit in a reclined position for even a few seconds without a horrible reaction. If I move into any of these positions I get instant gas, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal pain, muscle spasms, pain in my hands and feet, confusion and fatigue.
