How Long Does It Take To Kick in? ## Hi Crps sucks, it shouldn't take any longer than 15-30 minutes. Unless u have a tolerance 2 them. Then it could take a little longer. Have u taken them b 4? Or on a regular basis? ## From what I've read online, 15 to 30 minutes is a good rough estimate... Although timing can also vary some depending on your own body, as well as if you've recently eaten something. I'd also like to add that the maximum/peak concentration of oxycontin is generally found in the bloodstream at about one hour after ingestion. Keeping in mind that this is a time-released formula, it probably won't have much of an immediate effect like the standard oxycodone would, if you're used to having those. I hope this helps! Hello I'm Ken i live in Virginia and been disabled for along time now been on every pain med available seems like but i use to be on oxycontin er the 12hr pill my question is do they still make and or prescribe the real OC in any milligrams here in the states or do they only have and prescribe the new version which is OP cause the oc formula worked good for pain it lasted for me an 80mg lasted about 6to8hours versus the new OP formula which did not help my pain at all it just seem not to work so i had my doctor switch me to another extended release med cause why take something for chronic pain when it never did help i guess it helped me not to get sick so it was useless to me but all ppl differ when it comes to meds or just about anything that life throws at you thanks Ken ## Hello,...

Found two small, round, white pills. I know generic oxy can be white. One has a KU on one side and perforation on the other side (along with something you can't read.. seems to be a O or a zero). The other pill has no perforation, but has PA on one side, and 308 on the other. I pulled a good one. My RXs were not in sync; one for extended release one week and the other immediate release the next. So I'm out waiting and going through hell. I am currently taking oxycontin 40 mg and I going from a private insurance plan to a Humana PPO Medicare advantage plan and they don't cover it. Some of the other option they recommend from humana was Methadone, Hydromorphone, Codeine Sulfate, Fentanyal Patch, Morphine, and oxycodone IR. I know Oxycodone is the same active ingredient oxycontin but I also take Oxycodone 15mg for breakthrough pain. It helps somewhat but it does help enough. My good day after taking the medicine and having my spinal cord stimulation implant device on is a 5 but an avg. day is 7.5. And now since Purdue the makers of Oxycontin has reformulated the OC to OP we all suffer. I like all has called Purdue with my concerns not only a complaint on how this new Oxycontin does not work and its side effects. What I will do if I have enough people to respond is to set up a FACEBOOK page were people can add his or her story about how the OP do not work, what side affects he or she is having. Oxycodones are the best and worst things. They bring love and they bring hate. They saw me through the best times and gave the very worst. The ups and downs follow. But no matter how much i hate them I love them ten times more. And that's the problem. I think I might be dependent. Anyone else? ## If you think that is addiction you best never take methadone. The oxy is min. compared to some others. Never ever take any pain meds for a duration, or addict or not, your body will respond by dependence. These posts are yrs old... in australia this tablets have just arrived and ive had a day on them and have belly problems I have had pancritus and gall bladder taken out im scared re stomache and from wot ive read here u guys in usa have had no luck so I may be out of luck too. Live in Tampa and I have been on oxycontin SR 80mg, for 10 yrs. Prescribed by my physician , for injury. I can't afford the price my pharmacy is charging me. I got my meds last on the 7th of august 2017 and all was good. They were put in my purse and my daughter came here with her friend who's a kleptomaniac (i was told after the incident). I always divide my new meds in half and keep the 1 half in my bag, and I buried the 2nd in a makeup bag at the bottom where you can't see them unless you're looking through it. And mind you, i gave no permission to go in my purse. I got up and literally ran to get water. Came back and noticed that my bag wasn't looking right but i didn't think much of it. I have been on 10mg oxycontin hcl for several years (for Stiff person syndrome & migraine). I take 4 or 5 per day. These pills do not work for pain, the hospitals are not using it for pain control after surgery because people are screaming of no pain relief. Purdue Pharma did the change out slowly by zip codes so they could handle the complaints they take your info, they say they will pray for you they are sorry they had to do something to control the problem. It was approved under it's old license. Complain to the FDA about any problems associated with these drugs. The real oc's are still world wide because other countries don't allow their citizens to be cheated they make the manufacturer relicense. Canada is the way to go.
