Are Oxycontin ABG 80 mg.still made? ## Hello, John! How are you? No, the only time released formulation of Oxycontin that is currently available are the name brand tablets manufactured by Purdue Pharma. Due to the increasing theft and diversion of this opiate, the generics were removed from the market several years ago, in order to enable the manufacturer, FDA and DEA to keep better track of the supply. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Anyone find that they are nothing compared to the old cdn 80s? ## To my understanding, Oxycodone is always going to be Oxycodone. There might be a small difference in binders and fillers that affect its overall bio-availability, but not much else. Here in the US, the FDA also permits generic formulas to vary by as much as 20% from the active ingredients in brand formulas. Not sure if this is a concern where you are, but in either case I'd imagine 'most' legitimate patients would only notice a subtle difference in potency between other brands.

56 YO Male, taking this after a stint. I also take Atenolol, 100mg daily, Losartan 100mg 2x daily and Clopidogrel 75mg daily. Since the stint and the new meds, I am constantly dizzy. I do not believe the stint has anything to do with it, since it saved my life. I have read blogs where people feel uncomfortable with this "metal thing" in their body. I have no such feelings, I am eternally grateful for the "metal thing" and the miracle surgeons that put it there and saved my life. But back to my dizziness. Any suggestions?? ## It's difficult to say, because all of the medications you're taking have the potential to cause dizziness and it's possible that it's compounded due to that fact. I'm supposed to take one tablet twice daily until finishing treatment. I was given 23 pills for a urine infection and 15 minutes after taking it I got a rash all over. What should I do? I'm diabetic. ## Have you consulted your doctor? Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is an antibiotic and a non-allergic skin rash can be a normal side effect, but you should talk to your doctor to determine what type of rash it is. Since it appeared in such a short time frame, it may be an allergy to the medication and you might need to try something else.
