I have a sister who was given Zofran through an iv during labor and they said that their baby now has narcotics in her system. Is Zofran considered to be a narcotic? ## concerned no Zofran is not a narcotic , its for nausea. they may have given her something for pain in her iv, but they wont give her anything that would harm the baby, ## I was just wondering it would not happen to have any in epidural would it? I know that epidurals are the most commonly used when in labor to decrease or stop the pain. that wouldn't be it would it? ## concerned once they start the epidural there should be no need for pain meds, unless they gave it to her before the epidural was started, which its still ok .they wont give anything to hurt the baby. lots of stuff going on shes having a baby! ask your ...

Hello. I have been prescribed Phenergan via IV PICC line for nausea in combination with Zofran IV as well. Do these meds work well together? I do seem to be having side effects of blurred vision, itching and some abnormal feeling in my legs that makes me feel as if I must move or get up and walk. Is this a side effect or just something else going on? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a dangerously high interaction potential between the active ingredients in Phenergan (promethazine) and Zofran (ondansetron); which states that taking the two together may cause serious problems with your heart. Further details suggest that if these two medications are necessary, your doctor may adjust the dosage, timing and/or frequency of...

I go to ER 1-2x/mo for pain. Always same "cocktail" - Dilaudid, Toradol, Zofran, & Ativan. Works like a charm and I am usually in/out in about 3-4 hours. Only IV delivery seems to be effective. Doc would like me to be able to get these meds in some other way than ER due to excessive cost but can't seem to find a place willing to administer. Is there are reason I couldn't learn to do it at home? Would home health be an option? Is home health ever "on call?" ## Hello I am in the process of getting a pain pump but I have been hearing a lot about this homecare stuff and they come in and give you your meds I am 35 and not really thrilled about the pain pump but I can not hold on to my meds cause I always run out its not cause I take dubble or triple the amount at ...

Hi, I have severe gastroparesis for 5 years now. I’ve been through tubes, pics, ports, pyloroplasty and Botox. I asked my dr if I could try emend and she gave the okand the script. I have to say, emend plus zofran was the best anti nausea and barfing control that I’ve ever had! I was so happy! But, it’s $20 for 3 pills!! I can’t afford this because of all my other meds as well. Could I get it in IV form and administer it to myself with my drs approval? Also if you get it for Iv, do you get more than 3 days worth at a time? Or more pills for the high copays? Thank you so much! Wendy ## it is used to treat severe forms of nausea, so yes, it can be taken by people who do not have cancer. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness, drowsin...

I am on both of these meds do to severe medical issues. I take 40 Mg of opana 4 x daily and 30 Mg of oxycodone 5 x daily as well as Nortriptyline 150 Mg twice daily and neurontin 600 Mg 3 x daily. Needless to say a few different stomach medication due to chronic nausea. Oh and also phenergan pills and injectable. My question is has anyone found anything other than multiple medications to relieve severe chronic pain. ## I also have severe medical problems and nothing works. For two years was on 3Mg iv dilaudid every three hours and 120 percocet 10/325 every month. Zofran for nausea. Overdosed a couple months ago (imagine that) and been dropped four 5/325 percocet a day and now in constant pain... Not sure how to adjust. ## Have either of you ever tried the Fentanyl patch? It's a very...

I was in the hospital and receiving prednisone I.v., morphine I.v., flagyl I.v. and phernergan I.v., zofran, and then compazine suppository. Also four antibiotics I.v. I left hospital on Sunday night went to regular appt at pain management Monday morning and failed it for suboxone which I had to google because I didn't even know what it was and when finding out knew for sure I had not taken something that would make my pain meds not work. After being kicked to the curb I poured over hospital papers and wondered if prednisone could cause a false positive. I lost my pain management over this and considering I got out a day early just to go to this appt ## I m wondering why this would happen considering the only ingredient in prednisone is prednisone. ive never heard of it being prescr...
