Large round thick tablet with M 482 ## My mother has a couple of types of pills in one bottle, she does not remember putting them in with others and does not remember taking either pill. I accidentally have my husband 60 mg of nifedipine twice today. Will it hurt him? ## How is he doing? Did he suffer any adverse effects? Anytime something like this happens, it is best to contact the prescriber, or poison control to be sure of the person's safety. While there are those of us online that are happy to help, if we can, we cannot administer life saving procedures, if they'd be needed. Doubling up on a medication such as this could cause hypotension and dangerously lowered heart rate.

I am taking 60mg of nifedipine and I am having unpleasant dreams every night. Is there an alternative which does not have this side effect? ## Hello, Mick! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're experiencing. That is possible with most medications. How long have you been taking it? Most side effects tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, which generally takes about 4 to 5 weeks. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. There are other medications available, so if it's still happening and it's been longer than 5 weeks, it will most likely just be a matter of trial and error to find one that doesn't cause you such an issue. ## I've been taking nifedi...

She told me about Nifedipine, which opens up the blood vessels allowing free flowing blood, I thought great, I'll give it a go! She did warn me of the side effects, head aches, nausea, diz...

My mom takes a lot of pills and a typo from me caused her to take two 90 mg ER Nifedipine tablets. I am TERRIFIED that I have just hurt or worsened my mom. What will happen? I was prescribed Amlodipine 2.5 mg for my BP,2 months ago.As my BP was not controlled gradually my dose was increased to 7.5 mg and still it is 160 to165 systolic and 85 to92 diastolic and sometimes it is around 150/80. Can I try Nifedipine instead of Amlodipine. If so what is the dose to start with? ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? Both the Amlodipine and Nifedipine are calcium channel blockers, so if one hasn't been working for you, the other might not, either. In this case, you should consult your doctor, because you might be better of trying a different class of medication, such as a beta blocker.
