I found out about Lyrica after 6 months of the soles of my feet felt like thick Elephant pads and painfull. The sharp needles and pins prickling night and day.The bottom of my feet and toes burned to the point of turning red. I tried Benfotiamine..no help. I tried Novacaine I bought through a Canadian pharmacy...no help. I found one thing that would help some.Sitting with your feet up and a wet wash cloth draped over the feet and havin a ceiling fan blowing on them. At night I would wet the wash cloths ,fold into a triangle. fold tightly around the feet and pin on with a large safety pin. I stuck my feet out from under the covers. It was the only thing that would allow me some sleep. My Doctor would alwayssay he didn't knowwhat would help. I was already on Darvacet and Flexeril. I fo...

I'm on 600mg Lyrica. But don't feel the effects. I'm diagnosed by Neurologist as having Chronic Daily Headache What's wrong with the meds? ## Lyrica is not actually a straight analgesic, like a narcotic or NSAID, so you are not going to feel the same effects, as you would from something such as Oxycodone, or Acetaminophen, which are straight analgesics. Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is actually an anticonvulsant and, by the very way it works on brain chemicals, it has also been shown to help with some forms of nerve pain. However, not being a straight analgesic, it's not going to have the same effects that they do and it doesn't work as fast, it actually takes about 4 to 6 weeks to reach its full efficacy in your body. Is there a lyrica cream for topical application? Does it work for peripheral neuropathy? How (where) is it available? ## Hello, Ruth! How are you doing? There is no actual manufactured cream that contains Lyrica/Pregabalin. Such creams are usually specially ordered by a doctor and then made by a compounding pharmacy, so they require a prescription. Learn more Lyrica details here. And, as with anything, some people get great results from them and some do not. You can only try one and see how it works for you. Hello, I just read your comments about lyrica. I have peripheral polyneuropathy. This means it effects both sensory and motor nerves and causes both muscle and surface nerve pain. I take cymbalta with lyrica to help with the pain. Ask your doctor if this may help you. ## It appears that you made a new post, rather than a reply to the one you were reading. Lyricda worked well to decrease my debiliting level of neuropathic pain and burn in feet and lower legs. This allowed me to function better in my daily activities. Medicaid has seen fit to deny me the dosage (500 mg/day) which worked, and only allow me 300 mg/day, which is ineffective. I need documentation on the efficasy of doses over 300 mg/day in order to fight my appeal of this decision. Thanx, kate
