I was told a round coated brown tablet with p293 over 8 is hydromorphone 8mg. Is that true? ## Hello, Laney! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Paddock Laboratories and yes, the do list it as containing 8mgs of Hydromorphone. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. I have posted before about these meds which are the most effective rescue meds available (though not here in the UK) from my OxyContin, which only lasts a maximum of six hours and not the 12 as stated on the box, so need up to three rescue dosages of a suitable 4-hour action analgesic daily. First, can anybody tell me if the much cheaper TEVA US generic oxymorphone is up to the quality standard of the excellent Endo IR OPANA 10mg (and occasionally I need 5mg tablets as well)? What is the best value for money brand of hydromorphone IR high dosage (4mg and 8mg)? I know that the original Abbott/Purdue DILAUDID is by far best, but I hear good things about Ethex and Mallinckrodt's generics. Mallinckrodt also tend to be a lot cheaper than most generic opioids. Finally, how on earth can I ...

Been on 12-8mg dilaudid for decades, tapering down to 120mg so far. Pain dr added 2mg SL Buprenorphine twice a day. Been using for 8 weeks. No problems at all. No withdrawal whatsoever. The added buprenorphine in combination with dilaudid works incredibly well for nerve pain. Am going to continue to taper dilaudid to a lower amount slowly. May or may not be on both for a long time. Will increase SL buprenorphine as I decrease dilaudid. Who knows, I may end up taking no dilaudid, but only if the nerve pain does not build up with a vengeance. Anyone else having the same benefit I have had taking both? ## Buprenorphine tends to block the effect of other opiates in most people that take it, so I don't think you will find many people that have had as good of an experience as you. However...

who knows what pharmacy has generic dilaudid in stock in spring hill Fl. 34606?! ## In order to find out which pharmacy has this medication in stock, you'd probably have to go in person to each pharmacy that you intend on having it filled at and ask them in person. Reason being is that most pharmacists will be reluctant to tell a complete stranger over the phone if they have one of the most potent narcotic pain relievers in stock. If you are having trouble filling a script, I have heard that others are trying Walgreens Mail Order services with better success. Is there anyone else in Florida who can suggest what has or hasn't worked for you, in so far as filling your prescription? ## I was having a big problem getting my scripts filled for different scheduled drugs over the years...

Is hydromorphone the same as dilaudid I've. ## @Biglou, Hydromorphone is the generic name for Dilaudid (brand name), so yes, they are the same drug in that sense. However not all dosage forms are IV-based. For example, I've seen 4mg Dilaudid tablets in person and have also heard of patients taking 2 to 8mg tablets throughout this forum. One other thing to note is that they do make a brand called "Dilaudid-HP" (Hydromorphone Hydrochloride Inj.) which is marketed for intravenous use. Although, I have yet to find out if there is a generic form of the IV as well. Hope this helps answer your question! ## Regarding the post of Hydromorphine IV and dilaudulid: they are the same medication. I was on Dilaudid, (generic name) Exalgo ER 8 mg oral for chronic pain. While in hospital...

Can I take Tylenol 3 with hydromorphone if I am still in pain? ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? Tylenol 3 contains Codeine and Acetaminophen, so it would best not to mix these medications, unless your doctor approves. It could create the risk of overdose, especially in someone that isn't opiate tolerant. The FDA classiness this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes you can take the Tylenol 3 with hydromorphone. I used too be prescribed four 8mg hydromorphone and four Percocet tens a day. Its perfectly safe just dont drive until you know how it affects you! ## Thank all u guys for replying to my question ...

I have an alleged 8mg hydromorphone tablet that has 54 on one side with 425 under that and scored on the other side. ## Indeed, what you have there is a relatively expensive 8mg instant release hydromorphone hydrochloride, made in US, forgive me but I have forgotten the maker. Not Abbott Dilaudid brand, which are sorta rounded triangular shape with Abbott logo obverse and large '8' reverse. As are the most excellent ones by Covidien, under their Mallinckrodt label, only difference being the logo, a capital M in a square. Have not tried your 54 425 pills but they are reputedly of highest quality. Palladone 2.6mg capsules are the strongest instant hydromorph available where I live and are not often prescribed, Palladone SR 12-hour formulation being preferred, though for some reaso...

Im taking 30mg of oxycodone 6xa day would 8mg of hydromorphone 4 x a day be better was on 30 mg of oxycodone every 4 hours with 15 mg of oxycodone in between now they have cut me down to 30mg 6 times a day should i stay on the oxycodone or switch to hydrmorhone? ## In order to be equivalent to your current dosage of Oxycodone, you would need 67.5mgs of the Hydromorphone. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Did your doctor suggest this change? ## Hydrmorhone is duladid correct or incorrect, and what is oxymorphone? ## Matthew, Yes, hydromorphone is Dilaudid while oxymorphone is better known under the brand name Opana. Both are very potent opiods that carry a...

Can I take 40mg belsomra with 150mcg fentanyl transdermal patch? And with that pain med I also take 8mg hydromorphone two times daily....I've suffered from insomnia forever since my mid twenties and just dealt with it until my mid thirties...I'm on klonopin but since I'm very ill and bc of being on 80mg oxycontin from only being on 10 mg vicodin I blame pharma company's for aiding in having a high tolerance and being medically addicted. I have lupus and lupus blood clotting disease (world's biggest blood clot survivor), interstitial cystitis, ulcerative colitis with throat to rectum yeast infection, regurgitating, stage 3 kidney failure, rheumatoid arthritis, & also took out my large colon - all of it with no bag :). Walgreens won't fill my percription of 180 , 8 mg hydromorphone without contacting doctor to get a code to fill is this true my doctors office was closed so I have to try again tomorrow ## I am also on 8mg of Hydromorphone and have my Rx's filled regularly at Walgreens. The max perscribbed dose of this medication is 4x/day which comes to a monthly script total of 120 tablets. My thoughts are that a special code is needed/required by law for your script due to the fact that your doctor is perscribbing more than the maximum allowed dosage for this medication. ## The maximum prescribed doses per day can actually be 6 doses, since it can be taken every 4 hours, if needed that often. However, this really has to do with the new dispensing laws that are being enforced. Many pharmacies ...

I take 4, 2 mg tablets every 8 hours. I find taking 8 mg at once works better, instead of 4 mg every 4 hours. Everyone is different i guess. Also taking 6mg extended release every 12 hours. ## Hello, Chris! How are you? What medication are you talking about? I'm sorry, but you didn't mention it or post this in any particular drug forum. :-) ## Sorry about that. I'm taking hydromorphone.

My daughter was given this dilaudid after the surgeon removed her pancreas. having taken hydromorphone in the past for her debilitating pain, it has always offered relief. This (new manufacturer) pill does not give her the same results as the pills she had before this script was filled. These are white triangular, 8 mg tablets. One side has an 8 on it, the opposing side has an m. ## Rx card please?? ## How is she doing? These tablets do containing 8mgs of Hydromorphone, which is a narcotic analgesic. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation, and dry mouth. Corona, what type of card are you seeking? Did you find one that works for you?

I, too, have been having a serious problem finding a pharmacy that will (or can) fill my perscription for 120 dilaudid (hydromorphone) 8mg tablets. I am in the end stages of cervical cancer that has spread too far for treatment. The doctors all say "we will keep you comfortable." My perscription was written 18 days ago and after calling a few pharmacies and realizing that would not get me any answers, I had to have someone physically take me to 24 pharmacies only to be told they don't have them at all or that the ones they get go to their regular customers and that the suppliers are only sending them a very limited quantity each month and they can't even order enough to fill my perscription at all. I have been able to fill a one week supply of the 4 mg twice but now that...

what is the limit a dr can prescribe 8 mg hydromorphone to a patient ## Hello, Tim! How are you? Unless a patient has a condition that is possibly terminal, such as stage 4 cancer, then the DEA recommends they restrict it to the equivalent of no more than 120mgs of Morphine a day, which would 30mgs of Hydromorphone. If a doctor were going by that, they'd most likely stick with prescribing 3 a day, of the regular release, to be taken every 8 hours, so a supply of 90 tablets for a month. However, some states, such as New York, have further limited that recommendation to no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine a day, which would be 25mgs of Hydromorphone, in this case, that would still be 3 tablets daily. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has t...

how many 8mg dilaudid is there in a pint or 170ml? ## There's no way to answer this, without knowing the dosage of the liquid you're asking about. It should say how many mgs per ml, since the dosage can vary. Learn more Hydromorphone details here. Can you please post back with more details? If so, I'll gladly help! Thanks!

Will someone PLEASE tell me who makes the BEST 8 mg Hydromorphone? I can't afford the brand name. I heard Mallincrodkt sucks. BUT they do make the best Roxicodone. But I can't find anyone to tell me which manufacturer makes the best 8 mg hydromophone. It's driving me INSANE. I don't want my prescription filled with ineffective medications and ya know you can't take it back. So far I have found Roxanne, Mallinckrodt, and one other I can't remember the name. But that's it. Roxanne only got 8.6 out of 10. They don't make Abbott anymore UNFORTUNATELY cause I heard they were the best. If someone can help me with this, I would greatly appreciate it. I have exactly one week before I'm prescribed it again. And I KNOW I'm gonna have to call around for it. ...
