IF A DOCTOR PRESCRIBE A MEDICINE TO TAKE 8 HRLY AND I START MY FIRST DOSE AT 9 AM MEANS,WHAT ARE THE TIMNG FOR NEXT 2 DOSES? ## Every 8 hours from 9am would be 5pm and 1am. So, basically, your daily regimen would be a dose at: 1am 9am and 5pm. Are there any comments or questions? ## is it practicable to take a dose at 1am. Do you believe that people follow this dose regimen. Pls give me a solution. ## Why not you take early in the morning at 6 am, next dose at 2pm in the afternon and the third dose at 10 pm in the night. Is that not more practical? ## You mean a sick man has to get up early morning, ok what about baby?.what i observed is 90% of people not follow this dose schedule. So i still believe that it is not practicable

Is there a difference between 1 pill every 8 hours and 1 pill 3 times a day? 3 times a day is 8 hours yet I've seen it written both ways. ## Hello, Bosco! How are you? Yes, there is a difference. As is stated, one is meant to be taken precisely every 8 hours, but the other is just 3 times a day. That three times a day doesn't necessarily mean it has to be 8 hours apart, for instance, the doctor may just mean for someone to take it with breakfast, lunch and dinner, or in the morning when waking, at lunchtime and then at bedtime. Some medications need to be taken on a precise schedule to keep the level of them in your body consistent for them to work best, but with some medications, it doesn't matter. I just got the pills but I've been forgetting to take them like when I first got them I took it at 12pm and fell asleep woke up and took it at 2am then at 2pm then I fell asleep and just took one at 7:20 and I'm gonna tap one at 7:20 tonight will it still be effective? ## What medication are you asking about? I am sorry, but I can't really provide an answer, without knowing this additional information, since some medications do require precise dosing, in order to be effective, but not all. For instance, while an antibiotic says to take it every 12 hours, and that would be ideal, you also don't have to set your alarm to wake up and take it, it can wait a few hours, until you wake up. On the other hand, oral contraceptives are a medication that you have to be as precise ab...

I was informed from a co worker that I could not purchase another box of Sudafed 12 hour for another month. New state law. It is the only product that works for my sinus problems & I do take 2 @ a time. One just doesn't work. Is this true? ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you? What state are you in? I'll gladly research this for you, but I need to be able to narrow it down, a little. Did you try asking your pharmacist? The FDA classifies this medication as a decongestant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, insomnia and dry mouth. There is a certain limit on the amount you can purchase each month, so that might be what your coworker is talking about and they just misunderstood. That doesn't mean you can't buy more, b...

Allegra D 24 Hour Fexofenadine Hydrochloride + Pseudoephedrine Hydrochloride

Fexofenadine, sold under the brand name Allegra among others,[10] is an antihistamine pharmaceutical drug used in the treatment of allergy symptoms, such as hay fever and urticaria.[11] Therapeutically, fexofenadine is a selective peripheral H1 blocker. It is classified as a second-generation antihistamine because it is less able to pass the blood–brain barrier and cause sedation, compared to first-generation antihistamines.[12][13...

CAN THE MAIN INGREDIENTS BE SEPARATED ## Hi MIZTAZ, To my understanding, the active ingredients in Allegra D 12hr are not intended to be tampered with or separated. If you just want Fexofenadine on its own, normal Allegra may be what it is you're looking for. Pseudoephedrine is also available on its own, and is marketed under the brand name Sudafed/12 hr. Both options should be available OTC, but you may have to ask your pharmacist to get it for you if it's behind one of those locked glass doors. I hope this helps to answer your question!

I have a prescription for Percocet that was filled 4/25/17. I have 90 pills. The directions are one every 8 hours. Is that a 30 day supply? I have a refill on file at the pharmacy that was hand carried at the same time this one was. Sometimes I need to take more than one every 8 hours. I have spinal/disc issues and a pinched nerve to boot. Just trying to figure out when it's okay to call for the next refill. I don't want to break any laws! I am surprised how out of control the drug use has become when it comes to pain killers. ## Yes, that would be 3 a day, for a 30 day supply, unless the directions say to take it as needed, then your doctor might expect it to last longer. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, s...

I am a 38yo female. 120lbs. I just had my tonsils out today and am in some pain but not a lot... My Dr prescribed 2 Norco 7.5/325 every 6 to 8 hours for pain. I have found that 6 hours is a pretty long time for me... I even have a hard time with 4 hours.... And 2 pills are WAY too much... I'm good with one really, could probably cut that in half as it is... I'm wondering if I can take .5 to 1 every 3 hours instead of 2 every 6 hours? ## While this medication may work for severe pain, there is some amount of soreness that nothing is really going to relieve for awhile. I had mine out, just before my 21st birthday, so I know how miserable it can be. As to the medication, you can safely cut it in half, but I'd not recommend not changing the dosing schedule, without asking your d...

My health insurance to longer covers this drug where can it be purchased? ## Hi Birdie, Even if your health insurance no longer covers this medication, you should still be able to get a prescription filled at any pharmacy. However, if you're looking for a discount I would recommend asking your doctor or pharmacy about patient assistance programs or drug coupons to save money. If you run a google search for "Clarinex D 24 hour coupons" there seem to be a few good sites that offer coupons based on eligibility requirements. I hope this helps!

Take 1 Tablet every 6 hours for pain. How many is this a day? 3 or 4 ## Hello, Judy! How are you? That would be 4, as defined by the FDA, from what you've listed. However, if it is a prescription that says to take it as needed, then your doctor may not be expecting you to need 3 or 4 of them every day. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a tylenol bottle with several white and pink pills in it want to know if they are tylenol muscle and body pain.....Need to see picture ## That does match the description of the Tylenol 8hour for muscle aches and pain, but are there any markings on them? I don't have a picture that I can post, due to copyright reasons, but McNeil generally uses a logo on all their Tylenol products and that would enable use to know what they are. The tablets contain 650mgs of Acetaminophen.

I am currently on a Mylan Fentanyl patch 50mcg/hr. I was on 75mcg patch which worked well with my pain but the patches dont last 48 hours. After about 30-36 hours I start having major withdrawel symptoms and pain. I had these withdrawels with both doses of the fentanyl patches. My dr dropped my down to 50mcg to see if it would help but it does'nt. I have some Dilaudid for breakthrough pain but it does'nt work at all for pain or withdrawel syptoms. The dilaudid is basically useless to me. Has anyone had a Mylan Fentanyl patch thats doing this?? I saw my dr today and he's considering taking me off the patches and back to the pills again. This really sucks. The patches have worked well for about 10 months now. ## Very sorry for what you are going through. It is possible that yo...
