Why is the package insert ABSOLUTELY SILENT on WHEN the Altosec 20 is to be taken? ## Hello, Oubaas 74! How are you? Because there is really no specific time of day that it must be taken, other than before a meal. It is classified by the U.S. FDA as a proton pump inhibitor that helps reduce the amount of acid produced by your stomach to help treat or prevent conditions, such as heartburn, GERD, gastritis and ulcers. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## From:- Oubaas 74. I truly believe this medication caused my husband death. He was an active man age 74 and avid golfer (3-4 x week). It seemed to be the go to drug when he had pneumonia because of his COPD problem. He had taken it many times prior to his death and developed polymyalgia rehumatic and was on steroid's for several months. He was taken to the ER on 10-1-14 and yes they gave him Levaquin again for 10 days and sent him home. He was taken back to the ER on 10-16-14 with kidneys not functioning, couldn't breathe or walk. He passed away on 10-26-14. ## Hello, Judi! How are you doing? I am so very sorry for your loss. I'd be devastated to lost the love of my life, I can't imagine how horrible you must feel. I am 74 years old and I experienced difficulty urinating three years ago. For the last six months, I have been taking Dutas-T and now I am okay. I urinate either not at all or once in the night without any trouble. Should I stop taking Dutas-T? Is it harmful to take it for a long time? ## Dutas T contains Dutasteride, which can cause prostate cancer. Additionally, because Dutas T can mask urinary symptoms, the detection of cancer can be delayed. Please consult with your urologist about this. If the benefits outweigh the side effects, then you can continue with Dutas T. ## I am 67 years old & have been prescribed Dutas t for 6 months, daily one dose at night for treating BPH. Is this tablet a steroid. Dr told me its harmless but from Internet I understand it has high risk of side eff...

My husband aged 74 was in hospital for 5 months off and on. He was given a large amount of steroids that caused osteoperosis and compressed discs. He was told thst after 3months the pain would subside and he would feel better. Dreadful advice. More discs collapsed -the bones st badly -he's lost one third of his height and has dowagers hump. Take heed -if you need steroids for a length of time make sure u receive a calcium supplement too. Once the bones have set they can only relieve the pain with kyphoplasty (cement IV to fortify the vertebrae) they can't give u yr height back. That can only be done when the break is fresh. we're waiting for an operation date just to alleviate pain. A painful story all because of bad advice from reputable doctors. ## Hello, Diane! I have been treated for chronic back pain for about ten years and have a spotless record of compliance. I have no insurance so have to pay the bills out of pocket. About three years ago I was paying 40 dollars for a 30 day script of methadone. 10mg 3 times a day. Then the price went to 74.00 per month. then to 162.00 per month. For meds that cost less than fifteen dollars. Are there any doctors in Maine (my zip is 04537) That will treat a patient fairly. ## Hello, Scott! How are you doing? I'm not sure I understand your issue. If your doctor is prescribing a medication and your getting it filled at your pharmacy, the price has nothing to do with your doctor treating you fairly. The price is set by the pharmacy and their supplier. And with the new regulations that have been put in pl...

Is Ambien CR (for long term usage) the same as the generic Ambien for short term use? What is the difference, what's in it? I take the teva 74 but have been on it for some years. I tried the CR at one point but I felt was a lesser dosage and it did not work for me at all. ## Hello, Allie! How are you? I'll be happy to clear this up for you. They both contain the same active ingredient, Zolpidem, but in the CR, it is time released, so it is supposed to help someone fall asleep and stay asleep. I originally had a skipping heart beat which was tested and I was found to have no heart disease. Doctor put me on Metopropol succ er 25 mg tablets once a day to lower blood pressure. I had been taking for about eight(8) months with daily periods of skipping heart beat. My pulse rate had dropped from 74 to 64 times a minute and blood pressure was probably 122/72. When I got the last months supplies of tablets they had what looks like w/b on one side. I do not know what was on previous tablets. All of a sudden my heart is not skipping a beat anymore. Is it possible that the result is due to a change in manufacturer of the pill or is it possibly just a chance occurence? I have also cut back on drinking wine and caffein use. Thank you. ## Is that the complete markings on them? Can you plea...

I have been taking zolpidem 10mg for many years and all was perfect. It is also suggested to get a Dr.'s advice. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? First, Zolpidem can help someone fall asleep, but it doesn't mean they will always stay asleep, which is why the time released version was created under brand name Ambien CR, according to the NIH. Second, if you've been taking it for years, you may have built up tolerance to it, which can prevent it from working as well for you. The FDA explains that we eventually get used to any medication that we take regularly for a long period of time, and we...

what is the difference in the pink pils with c 74 on them and the white pills I have always been given? ## I can't really say anything with certainty, without knowing the markings on the white tablets. However, it is most likely that your pharmacy has just provided you with the same medication, but the tablets look different and have different markings, because they have been manufactured by a different company. Metoprolol is a generic medications, so it made by several different companies and it is normal for your pharmacy to change which one they carry, depending on who was offering the cheapest price at the time they needed to restock their supply. Did you try asking as the pharmacy?
