60 Mg Morphine Er

I'm new to MSIR ER 60mg and 30mg 4 x's per day for breakthrough pain and 3 x's a day on ER. Is this too much? ## The extend release is normally taken twice a day. If you haven't been taking Morphine what you stated is too much. FDA guidelines state a patient isn't suppose to be prescribed more than 120 mg Morphine a day.

I'm on Morphine sulf 60mg ER 1 table every 12 hours plus Fentora 400 MCG Buccal tablet 1 every 6 hours. I'm ran out of the Morphine Sulf and none of the farmacy have it on stock. Now I'm with a lot of pain, I think because I'm getting the morphine out of my system, but I do have at home Oxycodone 15 MG. Do you know if I can substitute the morphine for the Oxycodone safely until I get the Morphine back within 2 days. Also if I take the Oxycodone can I still take the Fentora safely. I have been using ER 60 mg morphine sulfate x 2 daily with other meds. No one has this medicine in Tampa area and being legally blind I have no way to go to 50 pharmacies to locate because they won't tell you on the phone. Is the orange coating on my 60 mg morphine part of the extended release? If I wiped it off would it become immediate release? ## I really can't tell you anything about the time release mechanism that's used, without knowing the specific tablet you are talking about. Are there any markings on it, or do you know who the manufacturer is? Can I take 60 mg morphine sulf ER 4 hrs after taking 30 OxyContin ER? I've never taken morphine, been on oxy's long time, but dr just took me of oxy &'put me on morphine. So I was taking 30 mg OxyContin ER 3x day. He switched me to morphine sulf 60 mg 2x day. I told him myths my pain has increased tremendously & I needed increase. He decided switch. It seemed like it will be lower dose pain meds, agree? ## To be equivalent to the daily amount of Oxycodone you were taking, you'd need 135mgs of Morphine, Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine. PLEASE HELP ME, I am so frustrated. I got a shock last week when I went to pick up my monthly prescribtion of morphine sulfate er 200 mg. I take 3 per day for my pain. I usally pay $225.00 for this rx well it jumped to over $1,000.00! I don't have insurance so I pay the cash price and have for over 5 years now for this medicine. I can't seem to find a replacement opiate that is time released the only one I found is oxycontin 60 mg. I get 90 pills every month. The price for the oxycontin is also over $1,000.00. I am currently taking 60mg of morphine sulfate ER twice a day and 30 mg of oxycodone HCL four times a day. For some reason I came up short one morphine on the last day of my prescription, so I only have one I can take instead of two until I get my new script tomorrow morning. Instead of taking the last morphine this morning, I waited and took it around 4pm tonight. Will I have withdrawl symptoms from missing a dose of Morphine, but continuing to take the oxycodone 30mg? ## If you didn't have any during the interim, where you didn't take it until much later, then no, you should be fine.
