My husband has artheritis and is taking tramadol twice a day (50mg.) his dr. said he would take one every 4 hrs but he doesn't, so maybe that's why it does not help the pain very much... can he also take orycodine/500ms. acetaminphen with the tramadol ## Hello, Lillie! How is your husband doing? Before trying to add other medications, on your own, he needs to try taking it as prescribed, for awhile to see if that helps his pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks!!!!!!But if it doesn't help, could he possibly taker the two together....

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis. Got Cortisone shots in my lumbar region and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 5-500 tb and Tramadol ER 200 mg from my rheumatologist. What is the Tramadol for? I'm starting a new job tomorrow and am not sure if I should take it until I know how they may effect me. Should I wait until this weekend to start? ## Hi Wendy, Tramadol is most commonly used for treating moderate to moderately severe pain, but has a wide range of other applications, including treatment for restless leg syndrome, acid reflux, and fibermyosis. If you're starting a new job of any kind, I would probably suggest waiting till you get off work to experiment with how these medications really affect you deep down. This way you can at least be more comfortable going into work knowing whether...

Hi; I am taking highblood pressure medicine, Lisnopril-htcz 20/25mg tab and amlodipine Besylate 5mg table. I am taking a blood-thinner called Clopidogrel bisulfate (Plavix oral) 75mg, I also have a vitamin d deficiency so I am taking vit d 50,000 iu d2 (ergo) caps (RX). Can these medicine be taken with Tramadol, and Hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-500 mg tablet. I am also a predibetic. ## Hi Victoria, It looks like you posted your question twice within the same paragraph. However from what I could gather, there are a couple serious drug interactions that you should be aware of. The first being between the Hydrocodone and Tramadol combination. Using these two drugs together may increase your risk of seizures, breathing problems, as well as other dangerous side effects. The other interaction ...

I have been taking tramadol a long time. For it to work, now I take 7 at a time (my doctor doesn't know this of course) and I thing I've been having mild seizures from it. I also have Hep C and my liver enzymes were 500 (got lab test) and my Primary doctor actually called me at home last night to tell me to see my specialist and not to take Aspirin, Tylenal, Advil. Does Tramadol contain acetaminisin or aspirin? ## No, Tramadol is exactly that, it doesn't contain any other active ingredients. Learn more Tramadol details here. But overdosing yourself is going to have a detrimental effect on your liver. You need to inform your doctor of how much you've been taking, because it's likely that more checks will need to be done for liver function. And if you've been havin...

My rheumatologist recently administered cortisone shots in my lumbar region and also prescribed Acetaminophen-Hydrocodone 500-5 tablets along with Tramadol ER 200mg for my ankylosing spondylitis. Can anyone tell me what the Tramadol is for? I start a new job tomorrow and am reluctant to take either of these medications since i don't know how they will affect me. Should i wait until the weekend to start? ## The Tramadol is also an analgesic. Learn more Tramadol details here. And yes, I'd be very reluctant to start them at the same time as starting a new job, just to be on the safe side. I supposed you could try during your off hours, such as at night to see how they affect you, but you should be cautious, especially if you are sensitive to medications. I am and Tramadol caused me...

will it be ok to take 2 x 500mg paracetamol and then 2.5hrs later take 1 tramadol hydrochloride 50mg ? ## Hi charlie, From what I could gather, the maximum amount of paracetamol (acetaminophen) for adults is 1 gram (1000 mg) per dose - up to 4000 mg daily. So with that in mind, it is possible to take two 500mg tabs at once. Safety is another concern though with regards to liver damage, if you plan on taking such a high dosage for any prolonged period of time. But as far as drug interactions go, there shouldn't be any problem taking Tramadol shortly thereafter. According to the MayoClinic, there is actually a Tramadol + Acetaminophen combination that is available for pain relief. When used together, the combination is said to provide better pain relief than either medicine used alone...

I take Co-codamol for arthritis 30/500 and Gabapentin 300mg. Is it safe to also take a low dose of Tramadol as well? I also have gout. Are there any contraindications? ## The Co Codamol contains Codeine with Acetaminophen, so no it shouldn't be taken with the Tramadol, since it and the Codeine are both opiates. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Have they all been prescribed for you?

shape and color of tramadol 37.5/325 ## ovol shaped light blue r 753 ## To the original poster, if two doses are listed, it would actually be a generic for Ultracet, which contains Acetaminophen, and Tramadol. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Can you please post back with the markings on it? Since it is available as a generic, it isn't possible for me to post descriptions of all of them for you. But if you can share the markings, I will gladly check for you to confirm what the tablet contains. Joe, Actavis lists that tablet as containing 5mgs of Glyburide and 500mgs of Metformin, it is most commonly used to treat diabetes. The FDA lists its typical side effects ...

But you could just as easily buy these two things separately over-the-counter at your local pharmacy. Is the arm numbness due to a pinched nerve or something? ## I dunno if there in your country you have dolo-neurobion.its a combination of paracetamol +b1+b6+b12 ## I was diagnosed of osteoarthritis and my doctor prescribe me with pregabalin lyrica with tramadol but it didn't work for me and the pain was still severe. which is stronger hydroco/acetamin 5-500 or Hydroco 10-500mg? Is it the same as Vicadin? I have a large tear in my rotator cuff. I just was given the 5-500mg. They told me it was Vicadin at the doctors office. I already had a bottle mostly untouched of the 10-55 because a doctor seemed worried that it was addictive and gave me tramadol which I can't say touches the pain. ## The one with the higher amount of the Hydrocodone is stronger, since it is the narcotic and the Acetminophen just helps it to work better. Both are generics for Vicodin, Norco or Lortab. You can learn more Vicodin details here. Another note that needs to be added here is that as of 2013, the FDA has made a request that all manufacturers lower the amount of Acetaminophen in these combination prescription products ...

Red and Blue Capsule ## This sounds like it could be 500mgs of Acetaminophen, a generic or store brand of Tylenol, but I am not certain on that. Are there any markings on the capsule at all? And Roger, I am not sure how well it will work for you, the Tramadol is derived from a narcotic, so it can be addictive and cause the same side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. How does a 100 mg sr tab compare to a 500 vicodin, since they both have opiode and acitemiephine? Are they similar in amount of opiode? ## Hello, ZannieMan! How are you? A 100mg Tramazac SR tablet only contains Tramadol and not Acetaminophen. It is actually much weaker than Vicodin, the Hydrocodone in it is much stronger, especially coupled with the Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I was on hydrocodone 10/500 for years. Took myself off them when I lost my Insurance and had to take tylenol 500mg (was taking 12-16)a day >This started to cause liver damage so I was put on Tramadol 300mg (i per day and this is working nicely for me.just don't like the dizziness I get sometimes. Can Tramadol do damage with long term use? ## Hello, A J! How are you? There is always a slight risk, when you take any medication for a long period of time. Most are processed by your liver, so there is a chance it may do some damage, though the risk is very small and it is much safer than taking that much Acetaminophen in a day. Tramadol also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation....

I don't know about paracetamol. 50mg is a medium sized dose for the tramadol, not enough to abuse. ## Paracetamol is another name for Acetaminophen. This combination of ingredients is used to treat moderate to severe pain, and can go by the name Ultracet. Use caution because this medication is known to be very potent and habit forming.
