i was perscribed 50,000 iu of iron one day a week pill. How much is this in mg? The perscription is for 5 months. ## Hi Faye, I find that really odd that your doctor said 50,000 IU, as Iron is not measured in international units, but rather milligrams or mcg. Generally, international units are used to measure "vitamins" such as A, C, E, D, etc...and not used for "minerals" such as iron. 1 IU vitamin A = 0.3 mcg (micrograms) 1 IU vitamin D = 0.025 mcg 1 IU vitamin E = 0.7 mcg as d-alpha tocopherol The translation from IU to micograms or milligrams is different for every vitamin; and as far as I know there is no converting measurement for Iron to go from mcg or mg to IU; or vise versa. Does anyone else have any information to share regarding this?

Can you take 50 mcg fentanyl with suboxone? Any replies from anyone please get back to me. Thanks. ## Hello, Baconbob! How are you? The active ingredients in Suboxone can also prevent Fentanyl from working as well, just as it does for other opiates, so you should mix them, unless your doctor has specifically told you it's okay to try it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Also, can I cut the patch in half?? ## Suboxone does not block fentanyl. Fentanyl is to strong and knocks the suboxone off the receptors, I have done this many times. Just have to be careful not to overdose. The...

I have had issues with my lower back since 1980 (When I injured myself) have a couple of surgeries and back in 2003 had a SCS installed (Spinal Cord Stimulant). For period of time the SCS worked well, but as I got older and my Spinal Cord Stenosis got worse the SCS lost its effectiveness. So I was put on a Butrans patch to carry me through as I did not want the surgery and wanted to stay working. Now on the Fentanyl patch (50 mg) and while I will admit it helpful the biggest issue I have is "Hot Flashes" and they are just nuts... So now after reading through all the issues others see I have now decided to go back to the Doc and discuss surgery again and seizure of the vertebrae in lower back. Best of luck to all as I am just feeling safe with all the drugs as there times when I ...

A 50mg morphine patch has been prescribed by an oncologist and is too strong for my uncle who has terminal stomach cancer. Is it o.k. to cut the patch in half? He is not in pain but is like a zombie. ## Hello, Christine! How is your uncle? No, that could result in his getting too much of the medication at once, which risks an overdose. How long has he been using them? The zombie like effect should improve, as his body gets used to the medication. But if it continues longer than a few weeks, then he should consult his doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## You can fold part of the patch under just don't breach the seal this is how the weekend yo...
