They should be able to come up with a good taper plan for you and also might have other meds to put you on to make this process easier. Talk to you doctor about Gabapentin (good prescription med to help you with the restleg/sleep/pain you get at night). Also an anxiety med during the day would be helpful. If you have been ordering it off the internet and/or are not able to get a doctor here are some suggestions. Hello all. I usually take Vicodin when I have bad back pain, but wanted to try something that wouldn't knock me out. I asked my Dr about Tramadol and he said he'd only prescribe one or the other. Long story short I filled my script and got green and orange capsules in a blister pack from Zenlabs. The pack says the drug is Zendol-50, containing 50 mg of Tramadol. I broke my foot and I'm in severe pain. What I have is called a lisfranc fracture. I was on Tylenol threes and they didn't help and then I got hydrocodone 5 - 3 - 5 and they didn't help the last thing I tried was Oxycodone 5 325 and they still didn't really take the pain away. So I asked my doctor for something that would help the pain and he prescribed me Tramadol 50 mg. I am apprehensive to get it filled and try it because I'm not reading anything positive about it. So I had taken tramadol a couple times in the past. I started out taking 6 pills at 50 mg each. The second time I did it I took 6 as well and my tolerance had already built up on them and they did next to nothing. A few days later I decided to up my dosage to 8 pills or 400mg along with about 1 1/2 beers. I got home that night and went to bed around midnight feeling pretty medicated.
