I was taking penicillin VK 500 mg for a dental problem, prescribed by my primary dentist. Oxycodone was 30 mg every 6 hours or prn. Oxycotin is one 20 mg every 8 hours. It stops working at 40 mg OR 20 mg at about 5 hours.I had a RouxN Y Gastric Bypass several years ago, and my metabolism is fast. Could it be that time released pill isnt working because of the compromised gastric system?I will always need pain meds due to severe double curve scoliosis. I took double dose of prednisone 60mg in one day 9 hours apart for sinus infection. Should I be worried? ## I was given a 24 hr prednisone shot yesterday to help with my tight chest and coughing. I took a half of a Morphine 30 mg about 5 hours ago is it safe to take a Xanax now? ## Hi Missy, From what I'm seeing online, there are moderate drug interactions listed between Morphine and Xanax; with the potential of it causing an increased risk for impaired thinking/judgement, dizziness, drowsiness, and an overall inability to concentrate. So if this is a concern to you I would probably wait at least double that amount of time in between doses, just to be on the safe side. For the record, nhtsa.gov states that Morphine has a relatively short half-life of anywhere between 1 1/2 to 7 hours. What does 10-5 mean on Lortabs? My prescription doesn't seem to be working for my pain and I was wondering if it meant Lortab 10 mg or Lortab 5 mg. So if it is 5 I can get a stronger MG ## What it seems to be is that your doctor was prescribing the tablets with 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen. Based on my research, the Phentermine 30mg dosage form should only be taken once daily. However additional information I found suggests that due to increases in tolerance your doctor may advise you to take 1 tab in the morning as well as a half a tab in the afternoon. Ok, This tylenol-cod #4 is not very strong...I take Ibuprophen 800 mg for fibromyalgia/arthritis..Waiting for the Docs to figure that one out?? if i take a methadone in the morning then do an oxy later will i still get high on the oxy ## Doubledizzle..How many MG's of methadone are you taking? Methadone will block any other narcotic if you are taking it for addiction, if you are taking it for pain, you are likely taking a lot smaller dose, so the methadone won't block other opiates unless you take them together, and that is just a guess on my part. When I started Methadone Maintenance, it took a long time to find my blocking dose, so if you are on it for addiction, it takes time, keep working on it with your doctor at the clinic,. I recently had my second back surgery, a double fusion. I was on fentanyl for months and did fine but the patches never stook so I asked to switch. Doc put me on Opana ER twice/day then doubled to 40 mg twice with Perocet 10 every 6-8 hrs for breakthrough pain. He then lowered the Oxy to just three times a day. Haven't seen but realized they rescheduled my appt and I'd be out on Friday (tomorrow) and I don't see until Mon. I asked if I could get enough to hold me over and thru said after like four calls and no reply to just stretch it.
