I started with percocet 10/650 2x per day then up to 6x per day because i was still in pain. I am trying to get back to my active life without being in pain. I was taking too many pills with acetamin. My Doctor switched me to 30mg ms contin 2x per day, it was the first thing that worked it took the pain away (even through the night -into the morning.) Also 2-5/325 2x per day for the breakthrough pain. (I do not have ins. right now and 5/325 is cheaper than 10/650). But the ms contin was making me sweat really, really bad, so bad I had to ask my doctor to switch me to something else. He switched me to oxycontin 40mg 2x per day and oxycodone 30mg 2x per day. The day after I got them prescribed I applied for health insurance that would cover my doctor visits and prescriptions. The oxycodon...

yellow octogon ## Did you mean Opana? This contains the narcotic pain reliever Oxymorphone. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I currently take percocet or oxycodone/ apap and I have been on it for a long while. I can't go back to loritab and thses are both 10 mg because loritabs do not work! So I would like to see what other meds are out there that I or my Dr might prescribe?

does opana ir come in 40mg ## No, the available information on the drug lists the 40mg as only being available in the time released formulation of it. Oxymorphone is a narcotic analgesic and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any comments or questions? ## The only IR Opana is a 10mg strength and comes in generic as oxymorphone 10mg. Hope that helps. Usually if you take Opana ER 40mg, the doctor will also prescribe Opana 10mg to take every four to six hours as needed for breakthrough pain. I was prescribed that way for a long time, but now choose oxycodone 30mg over the Opana 10mg because the dosage is stronger because 1mg of opana=2mg oxycodone.

Are there any tricks to get the insurance company to authorize opana when the 2 other medications that they cover are giving me way to many debilitating side effects . My pain doc switched me to opana or OxyContin so I'd get pain relief without sedation, itching , rashes and vomiting . I've tried OxyContin and I had none of those side effects. My doctor just sent in the letter of medical necessity and if it gets denied I'd like to know what are things that they look for specifically and things they consider there to be cause to approve the request and authorize it? The doc told me he only wrote two Med codes bc the form only had space for that . Uuggghhh- that frustrated me bc I just had surg and I really wanted this to go through and FAST !! Now I'm wondering if it's n

Do we have New Opana's coming out? And if so when ## Hi, Millie! What do you mean by new? There is a new formulation of the name brand that has already been released on the market and there are also many generics available. Learn more Opana details here. This medication is a narcotic that has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation.

ALL I WANT TO KNOW ARE THEY COMING OUT WITH 40MG OPANA IN GENERIC, NEED TO PAY LESS IT JUST TO MUCH MONEY. ## Yes they are and already started senting them out. Check Impax web site and call them. They will tell you. You may need to have your pharmacy order them. They are much cheaper. ## A lot of it is going to depend on when the supplier for your local pharmacy can get them in. Learn more Opana details here. Every pharmacy can only order a limited supply of each controlled substance each month, so if they've already stocked up on the name brand, they won't be able to order in the generic for you, yet. Under the new laws, there is nothing they can do about it. So, it may take a month or two, before they become available to you. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Has ...

i wanted to get some more feedback regarding Opana 40 mg ER and any side affects that you may have. I have two herniated disc's L4-L5 & L5/S1 & I have stonisis of the spine as well.. I am only 39yrs old and my pain management Doctor referred me to this type of pain medication since I am way to young to have back surgery. I am currently on my second steroid IV of dexamethasone which is a series of 3 intravenous doses and they have done nothing so far with the inflammation. I have been taking Generic Hydrocodone 10/325 2 pills 3 times a day and it's not helping so my doctor put me on Opana starting tomorrow, 40mgs twice a day. I live in FL and they have super strict laws so they will not give me any type of Oxycontin or Roxycontin. Anyways, how long have you been on opana ...

They are horrible. Purdue pharma put too much filler and other stuff in them. They can pass right through your body in your stool, which happened to me. They can make you sick. They take way too long to work. I get about 6 hours and that's just calming my pain down. The docs will tell you they're 12 hour pain relief which is BULL, and the 80mg say 12 hours - Now how can that be? I've been through 6 failed lower back operations, damaged nerves, scar tissue on nerves, 5 deteriorated discs in my upper back, 3 severe multiple bone spurs sticking in my nerves and 2 bulging discs in my neck, and need both knees replaced. And my doc only wants me to take 2 a day. I only get 3 hours of sleep. I'm up at 1am or 2:30am and then take another dose at 9 or 10 am. I CANNOT go through t...

are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yet ## are the crush proof 40mg opanas out yetorbne ## Yes, they do appear to have been recently made available in the new formulation. However, some pharmacies may still be experiencing a backlog, due to the fact that the supply was short for awhile and many people were waiting to get their prescriptions filled. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I noticed the label on my last refill for opana 40mg for the 1st time stated "the color & shape of this medication may be different from what you have been getting, but still works the same as your previous med." Upon checking, some pills were the same hexigonal shaped yellow pills i had been getting and the remaining pills were the same color but were round and were almost like rubber...

I'm switching to 3 40mgs a day of Opana ER and hoping it does better than 80mg of OxyContin twice a day. Any advice or info please ## Hello, Timps! How are you? Opana is actually twice as strong as Oxycontin, so you'd only need 80mgs of it daily to equal the 160mgs of Oxycontin that you were taking, thus, taking 120mgs a day will actually be a stronger dose and may provide better pain relief. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I went from OxyContin to opana as well and great as I thought OxyContin were, opana surprisingly not only lowered my pain level but kept me even...

my Dr prescribed Opana 40mg as alternative to Oxy 80 mg 2 twice a day which I would insufflate - I didn't tell him this of course. he claimed them to be just as good if not stronger can any one share about opana 40mg ## Inhaling medications that are not intended for that method of usage is very dangerous. You run the risk of overdose and creating blockages in your lungs, which can lead to breathing problems, embolisms and stroke. Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone, this is a potent narcotic pain reliever. Side effects can include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. THis dosage is about the same as what you were taking of the Oxycontin. Do you have any other questions? ## i was taking three oc 40's a day, when the new op 40's came out they seemed to...

How long is opana 40 mg shelf life? ## Hi mike, According to the thread linked below, the shelf life of Opana is 3 years: /Discuss/Opana-ER-Shelf-Life-225768.htm However a Harvard Medical School family health article states that, except in rare cases (i.e. tetracycline), there is little chance of danger due to taking medications even up to 15 years beyond their expiration date. This conclusion was based upon a study conducted at the request of the US military due to stockpiles of expensive drugs they could otherwise need to replace every few years. The conclusion was that 90% of those drugs remained effective 10 - 15 years after the expiration date. But the question is whether or not the drug you have happens to be one of these drugs from the study... (I have not seen the list of drugs ...

It has numbers 208 on one side and the other side is scored in the middle with either a 1 or an I on the left side of the score mark and a G on the opposite side. ## Yes, this tablet contains 40mgs of Citalopram, a generic for Celexa, this is an antidepressant. Common side effects may include: nausea, insomnia, headache and dry mouth. My pain specialist switched me from 100mcg of fentanyl to 40mg 2 times a day of opana ER. Was this the right conversion? I went through withdrawal for 3 weeks and I'm still in a lot of pain. ## Fentanyl is currently the stronger opiate available, so no, it is not equivalent and it is normal to experience withdrawals and rebound pain for awhile, according to FDA reports. Has there been any change, yet? You might need a dosage adjustment. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. ## I was just switched over from opana 40 mg twice a day to a 50 mcg fentanyl patch. Can you still get withdrawals from the opana?

I was just at my pm appt and my doc informed me that endo pharmaceutical has won the legal case on stopping other pharmaceutical companies on making the generic. Which I find is bs that they get to keep making the brand which doesn't work for the majority of pts including me. I was on opana er 30 just got bumped up to 40mg made by global pharmaceutical company. So as the pts what is there to do when you can't find the generic anywhere in the near future? The brand just dosent work and I won't put anything in my body that dosent give me relief from fibromyalgia and swollen joints. I had one knee replacement and need another one. Soooo pissed off. ## I'm sorry, but I don't have any information about the legal court decision. However, have you considered trying any othe...

what is then dosage for oxymorphine er15 vs opana 40mg? ## Oxymorphone is the active ingredient in Opana, so the base dosage would be the same. The only difference in war you've listed is that the ER designates that one as being a time released formulation, rather than a regular release like the other one. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I don't understand your question. Opana 40mg is extended release and oxymorphone 15mg ER is the generic version of Opana 15mg ER. So the only difference is the strength as there is no such thing as instant release Opana 40mg. The only IR version of Opana is 10mg, which is available as the generic oxymorphone 10mg. I hope this answers your question, if not, please repost your question and make sure your last post was what you meant ...

oxycontin 40mg versus opana 30mg, which one helps most? ## It really depends on the person and which one works better for them. The 30mgs of Opana, in this case, is the more potent of the two, if that's what you're asking. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I know this is a very old post but i just had to say the Opana is no more but the generic(oxymorphone 30mg ER) is still available and BLOWS EVERYTHING out of the water by far including the oxycontin 80's n especially a 40mg oxycontin thats all

Just give me a shot gun please!!! Where can I go in Henderson, Nevada to get my medication to just take the edge off of my pain? I can't find a Pain Management Dr to prescribe what I've been taking for years and gives me some quality of life. I was prescribed megace for endometrial lining too thick. About six weeks ago I had a hysteroscopy and a d&c...she scrubbed the ablation because it looked too suspicious...but, she was prepared to call someone else in. The Megace worked pretty well before the procedures. It was just a matter of which dosage would work.. Went from once a day...didn't work. Went to twice a day...didn't work. Went to three times a day...didn't work. Finally, at four times a day...it worked. Then, I had those two procedures. Now, we are back to figuring out what to do. Went from twice a day and now back to four times a day. Bleeding and cramping have gotten much worse. Follow up with doc on Wednesday to go over my options. I hope it will be the "h" word...hysterectomy. I am 47 and ha...
