I'm having a severe headache and have been for 3 days. Went to Dr yesterday and they gave me a script for a headache pill but it didn't work. They also gave me a pain shot and steroid shot that didn't work! Today they called in a script for butalb acetaminophen caffeine 50 300 40 and it's not working. How long should it take for this to work or should I go to see if I need any tests ran? ## It should start to help within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it, according to the NIH, since it is a regular release medication. I am on Bystolic 10 mg and Benicar 40 mg. Is it better to take Bystolic in the morning or the Benicar. My bp is usually elevated when I wake up and seems that Bystolic was not controlling it in the morning so my MD suggested trying Benicar in am & Bystolic at night? ## For the best results, you should follow your doctor's instructions. Have been getting swelling in my right leg, between knee and ankle ,my BP was 170/100 , was taking Envas 5 ,1tab daily. Doctor changed Envas 5 to Tazloc -H with multi vitamin-mineral tab .Took this combination for ten days -diuretic resulted in frequent urination and leg swelling did not decrease ,but BP dropped to 150/90. I had high bp. I am taking now Telma h 40 & prezopress xl 2.5 one tablet each daily. BP is under control, but is the combination ok? ## You should take them, if your doctor has instructed you to do so. Multiple medications are often prescribed, if someone's blood pressure is very high, to try to bring it down as fast and as safely as possible. When I first had congestive heart failure, I as on quite a few medications, until my blood pressure was lowered to better levels. They gave no reason for the shortage, but a pharmacist told me that it has to do with the availability of the Propranalol molecules. You can try Inderal.
