Hello; my name is Kitty. due to several back & neck surgeries I have tried several pain meds. i'm 70 yr/s old & had these surgeries about '84. as I've aged the pain is much worse. I now take a dark pink tab ms morphine sul 30 mg er ever 12 hrs & lortab 10/500 as needed which is usually 4 to 5 times daily. I don't know if the morphine is helping or not. I don't want to take something I don't need & am type 2 diabetic using insulin. if I continue taking the morphine & stop by cutting back slowly on it what side affects will I have? Would like to know to what effect this will be different from 4-10 mg hydrocodone/500 APAP, daily ? ## They are both narcotics, so the side effects are going to be very similar, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. However, the SA stands for sustained action, so the Morphine is a time released product that is meant to help give you better pain control. Is there anything else I can help with?

Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to actually try it. To answer your other question, Morphine is a narcotic pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain. How different is Morphine Sulfate 30mg E 653 from a 30mg perocet, and is it dangerous to take it like its a percocet or vicodin, is it ok to take in severe cases of plantars fasciitis ## There is no 30mg Percocet, so I assume you're talking about a regular release Oxycodone tablet, whereas Percocet would contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone and is only available with a maximum of 10mgs of the Oxycodone. I am trying to decrease the pain meds I am taking. I was taking one 30mg tab twice daily. Recently I forgot and skipped a dose felt fine, I realized it had a half life but I was ok. So I've been at that dose for three day s and I'm still ok. Should I continue with 30mg once a day or should I cut one in half and take it twice a day. I was on 5 30mg of oxycodone ir after doing some reading after you have more than 120mg in your system the rest is not helping you it's just loading your system up and your asking for long term problems my dr. 54252 ## In one place you have the number as 54262, and in another it says 54252. If your pill is a pale yellow, round pill about the size of an aspirint, (maybe a little bigger) and the number is 54262 then yes, you do have 30mg morphine sulfate. It is used for moderate to severe pain. It is a schedule 2, controlled substance, that can be very addictive. Side effects include marked drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, euphoria,headache, among other side effects. I could not find a pill labeled 54252 so I am hoping the real number is 54262.
