is there a such a thing as a thirty milligram hydrocodone ## Not in any of the standard prescription formulations, the only way someone would get this is if their doctor ordered it and they had them made from a special compounding pharmacy, then it would be a capsule. The standard dose of Hydrocodone by itself only goes up to 5mgs and in tablets with Acetaminophen, it is available in up to 10mgs. I work in a surgical practice and today we were told by a pharmacy that this formulation is no longer available? We thought that a few years ago the FDA mandated that the level of Acetaminophen be reduced ## Yes, it was mandated that the amount of Acetaminophen in combination prescription medications be lowered to no more than 325mgs per dose, the FDA put this regulation in place a few years ago. But with just the 300mgs, the only one currently listed as still being available is 10/300mg. However, there is a 7.5/325mg dosage available. My pharmicist said they were no longer made. ## The FDA has asked dr to no longer prescribe it with 500 mg acetaminophen but instead to use the mandated reduced 325 mg acetaminophen. The FDA has also asked pharmacists to contact the drs if a rx is written for the 500 mg before filling it. The hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Lortab, Vicodin, Norco) are still made. But, the amount of acetaminophen has been reduced. ## So can you take a Tylenol to get the same results since they lowered it to 325? I am afraid that my medication knowledge doesn't extend to its use or safety in animals. There are many drugs that cross over, but due to an animal's metabolism, the dosages must be carefully adjusted. Since she is just a small puppy and this contains a narcotic, I'd suggest checking with a veterinarian. How is she? ## Most people I know take 10 to 12 / 8 mg. Dillaudids a day intravenously!! Hello, I know someone who is prescribed Hydrocodone-- 10mg-325 acetaminophen mg and Morphine-15mg. This person said on a "good day" they take 60mg of hydrocodone which would be 1950 mg acetaminophen as well as the 30 mg of morphine a day- again on a good day. I do not know much about all of this- so my question is- how dangerous is this? Thanks for all your help! ## It being dangerous, or not, depends on the person and their tolerance to opiates. Hello everyone, I'm trying to find out what manufacturer makes the best (as in best pain relief) 8 mg hydrocodone. I've been taking 8 mg Mallinckrodt hydrocodone since December 2017. I take the medication for breakthrough neuropathic pain (I also have intrathecal pump w/ hydromorphone). Prior to Dec. 2017, I was taking Actavis brand 30 mg oxycodone but getting only minimal pain relief which is why my doctor switched to the hydrocodone. I had tried a few different brands of oxycodone but in the end, stuck with Actavis as it was MUCH better than the others. I've been taking 10/325 hydrocodones × 5 per day for a couple of years for pain then the laws changed and, my Dr. prescribed me 1, 30 mg. Kadian cr per day for pain, the hydrocodone kinda helped for pain but i never was fully pain free. Just wanted ask how the new prescription would be better or should I ask for something else. Is this how much a script of 30 generic Vicodin tabs usually goes for at your local pharmacy? There are a number of pharmacy price checkers that can be found on Google if you ever feel the need to compare prices from different pharmacies in your general area. I take 8 - 30mg Codeine daily, put some days need a bit more. I have some Hydrocodone 5/ace 500. can I add one or two of these, or take additional Codeine ## You can take 60 mg of Codeine every 4 hrs. But, if they contain 500 mg of tylenol instead of 325 mg, you can only take 2 every 6 hrs due to the high amount of tylenol. Hydrocodone is stronger that Codeine, so you may want to take the hydrocodone only instead.

I am super scared... I have taken a total of 17 hydrocodone 10/300 today. I read (afterward) that 90mg of hydrocone is lethal. I have tried to make myself vomit to get the last pills out, but I cant tell if what is coming up is a dissolved pill or just mucus. I dont want to die!! I dont know what to do. I just took my second dose of gabapentin 100 mgs this morning. I was also prescribed hydrocodone 10/325. 5/300 is 1/3 the price of 5/325 of hydrocodone acetaminophen at the pharmacy. Does the pain relief compare and is it worth the difference in price? And the most operative question is really....how is the change working for you? While there are some conversion standards, it is generally more important to individualize it and customize it to the patient and how they respond to a medication, plus their tolerance levels.
