Hi, found a pill fell out of my nieces purse. Ok, one side looks 239, other side it looks like..I just can't see the imprint, there probably was one ## The only tablet I can find that matches this description is manufactured by InvaGen Pharmaceuticals. It has IG on one side and 239 on the other, they list it as containing 10mgs of Amlodipine. The FDA closes this medication as a calcium channel blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. If this is your pill it's Amlodipine Besylate 10 mg. Amlodipine is a long-acting calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine class) used as an anti-hypertensive and in the treatment of angina. Like other calcium channel blockers, amlodipine acts by relaxing the smooth muscle in the arterial wall, decreasing total peripheral resistance and hence reducing blood pressure; in angina it increases blood flow to the heart muscle. I found this small round white pill with no 23 in the bottom of my purse. Can't remember what it is, can anyone help. ## Hello Jodi, Is the number 23 the only imprint that is on the pill? Round white pill with IG on one side and 239 on the other found in kids room, what is this?? ## This one has been a challenge to find a definite match for. Basically, FDA approved prescription drugs are all required to contain a unique imprint code / color / shape from all manufacturers. The fact that this marking is not showing up all over the place can indicate one of the following: 1. It may be an over the counter medication 2. It may be from outside the United States 3. It can be an illegal drug - although I doubt it with this one since the markings are so specific I wish I could be more specific with this post, but at this point it is difficult to tell.
