My mother has just been put on morphine 15mg 2x a day. She has breakthrough pain after 6-8 hrs. She had been taking 60mgs of oxycontin a day. I have been on and off 5-325 and 10-325 oxycodon for about 6 months now I was wondering how a 30mg morphine tablet would affect me I'm 110 pounds if that helps any. I grew a tolerance and rather than up the dose, I managed to get back onto teva-morphine SR 30 MG, but what I took before was hydro-morphine 30 MG..trying to find out the differences ## You're actually mixing up drug and manufacturer names here, which may be creating some of your confusion. I currently take 20mg methadone twice a day with MSIR 30mg tabs 4 daily=120 total. I am trying to find which dose of oxycodone would be the equivalant of my current dose of Morphine IR. Its been VERY hard filling that script for approx 6 months now and is getting worse. So one option is switching to another medication. Some of the problem is that medicine isnt used as much as it once was. I have never been on oxycontin before but just recently got prescribed 20mg of it. I have taken dilaudid, morphine, and oxycodone pills before though. I accidentally took two oxycontins within 2 hours of eachother as my anxiety medication is small and the same color. We are looking for the Oxycodone Hcl liquid that does not have saccarine sweetner in it. ## Most of them are going to contain some type of sweetener, to prevent the oral solutions from tasting awful. I am not sure which company makes any that don't have one of them in it. Have you tried asking your pharmacist if they can located any?
