I was on tylox 5/500 4 times per day for years due to a motorcycle accident with a scorpion back break. I have had 2 surgeries and now lots of scar tissue and severe arthritis in my lower back with severe chronic pain. When they removed tylox with acetaminophen my dr. prescribed percocet 5/325 in jan 2014. Since that time i itched like crazy. Dr. sent me to dermatologist who sent a report that it was lasix coming out of my body but dr. said that was not what was causing itching, but never told me what was causing it. Now pharmacist says the fillers and binding agents cause allergic reactions that are making lots of people itch. Can my dr. prescribe just a straight 5mg oxycodone with no acetaminophen or something else? What would you suggest? Vicodin or loritab are out of the question wi...

I've been on Vicodin, Norco, and now Tylenol 3 for pain. I'm getting ready to have knee surgery and than back surgery. I'VE BEEN TAKING THESE PAIN PILLS SINCE MARCH 2014. How do I tell my dr. that the Tylenol 3 is not strong enough and I'm taking more than 2 a day. I ALSO HAVE HEP C+, WHAT SHOULD I be taking/ ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? The Codeine in these Tylenol formulations is actually a very weak opiate, you'd need 33.33mgs of it to equal each 5mgs of Hydrocodone in the Norco. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Since you have Hep C, you likely should avoid the medications that contain Acetaminop...

I just got this medication from a local CVS pharmacy. I had to pay because they once again lied to me about Oxycondone being taken off the market and that my insurance no longer covers this medication. The truth about A333 is LESS Tylenol. If this pill does not work as well as Watson 932 just take an extra Tylenol pill with it. I have been on opiates for 5 years and this pill works just fine for me. ## Hi ben, Sorry to hear about the pharmacy lying to you over your insurance coverage. That sounds like a pretty ridiculous attempt to get you to spend cash. Watson 932 actually has the same amount of Acetaminophen as A333, but I think the difference is that they don't make them with more than 325 mgs anymore. 325 mg is now the new max dosage found in any pills as of 2014, due to an incr...

I was taking Lortab 10-325, went to my doc today and he gave me Lortab 10-500MG, what is the difference? Did I get a stronger pain pill or a weaker one?? ## The only difference is that one has 325 mg tylenol and the other one has 500 mg tylenol. The FDA made manufacturers not put more than 325 mg into the prescription combination medications effective Jan 2014.The FDA recently took steps to withdraw their approval for prescription medications that contain more than 325 mg tylenol. It won't be long before you won't be able to get any prescription drugs with more than 325 mg tylenol. Your dr may have just made a mistake. But, yo udo need to mention it to him when you see him again. Also effective Oct 6, 2014 Lortab will become a Schedule II medications and thee will be no refills,...

I've been approximately 10 years on hydrocodone acetaminophen 10-500. It now has been changed to Hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325 without any consultation. What would be the reason for the change and will it attack the pain the same? Thank you. Todd ## All prescription tylenol combinations medications had to reduce the amount of tylenol to no more than 325 mg in Jan 2014. The FDA has even taken action to withdraw the approval for prescription meds that have more than 325 mg tylenol. The decrease in tylenol may or may not make any difference to you. Some drs are telling their patients to add 1 regular strength tylenol to the prescription meds, if they need it. Just be sure to keep track of how much tylenol you take in a 24 hrs period and don't let it exceed 4,000 mg in a 24 hr pe...

I have a right below the knee amputation due to a land mine that happened in 1968, have never needed pain meds up until 2 to 3 years ago at which time my doc prescribed hydroc/apap 10-650 mg--formerly lortab. Now it has been changed to the same thing only in a 10-325 mg which from what I have been told was due to a change in the law Jan 2014-the 10-650 did a fair job if I oook one every 4 hrs of course the 10-325 do not seem to help very much, have about a 8 out of ten on the pain chart. My wife was given Oxycod/ap 5-325 when she had Cancer surgery, I have taken some of the leftovers and can go 8 to 10 hrs without much pain at all. Can you tell me if they still made this or something equal to it or even the 10-650 lortab that is easily avaviable? Thanks!!1 ## The tylenol in all prescript...

Want a refillable subscription for substitute of above. Being told I have to have a hard copy every month. ## Hello, Izzy! How are you? Yes, that is correct, this medication was changed to a schedule 2 drug at the beginning of October 2014, so you can no longer have refills on it. The closest you might be able to get that can have refills is Tramadol, though it doesn't work well for everyone that tries it. Some people find that it doesn't provide pain relief for them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Tylenol #4

Want to know what all this pill contains is cemol wrote in cursive on one side and CP on other side it is Tylenol from Thailand but what dose ## @thunkett, I don't want to jump to conclusions here, but most of the results I'm finding on the internet lead me to believe that Cemol from Thailand is only available in 325 mg dosage forms. As of january 2014, this is the maximum amount allowed here in the US, but I realize other countries may have different regulations surrounding Tylenol's safety. Is there anyway to get in touch with the pharmacy you got it from?

Why can my DR. not prescribe the HYdrocodone apap 10/660 .reason being i was on it for about 7 years with no side affects and could stop taking it anytime with no problems. The narco 10/325 i have to take twice as many to git the same results, and have constipation problems. ## In Jan 2014, the FDA required manufactuers to limit the amount of tylenol in prescription meds to no more than 325 mgs. They no longer make a med rx with 660 mg tylenol. ## @Rocky, BL is right about the new law limiting the amount of acetaminophen to 325mgs. However to my knowledge there are safer alternatives to acetaminophen (such as Curcumin/Turmeric root) with studies showing that it's as effective as other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs but without side effects when taken as directed. So if that...

I have 3 herniated discs c4-c6 and myofasacia that was diagnosed from a car accident in October. 2014. My pop will not prescribe narcotics, I am currently in a pain management program who has sent me to physical therapy, a neurologist, and provided a tens unit. I am in pain 24x7 and cannot sleep because of the level of pain. My pain management Will not prescribe any pain medication. I have discussed this with my psychiatrist and psychologist who cannot believe they have left me in pain for so long. The pain has gotten so bad I have gone to their office 6 times with all my documentation, given 5 days of mess and told to call my dr, who says TO TAKE TYLENOL. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO? I can't take the level of pain increasing. ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? I'm so very sor...

Rescheduling hydrocodone/APAP combos to CII seems to have mixed results. I believe that it was the ignorance of the use of liver damage with exceeding 4,000.mg of acetaminophen and not necessarily the abuse opioid factors. Your thoughts. ## Prescription meds containing Tylenol, where limited to a max of 325 mg of tylenol effective Jan 2014. Rescheduling hydrocodone combination meds became effective Oct 6 2014. There is no connection because drugs are scheduled according to their risk for abuse and addiction. ## Continuing thoughts on the previous post: The way they schedule drugs "according to risk for abuse/addiction" should in my opinion, be reconsidered on many accounts. 1st being that addictive behavior only stems from those individuals who are not disciplined in their decis...

are extreme headaches from the neck and back of the head a withdrawl symptom? Doctor said that Cymbalta is a narcotic !!! was put on x strength Tylenol ,Motrin and gravol every four hours !!Went cold turkey due to the side effects being so bad and now suffering the withdrawl effects ## I have taken cymbalta since 2005.. Switched to other meds for several years and came back to it in 2014. Thing seemd on for a while until I told my doctor I thought I might need something else.. She upped my dose to 120mg and recommended I tKe 1 in morning and 1 at night.. My brain zaps start around 3pm ## No, Cymbalta is not a narcotic. It contains the active ingredient Duloxetine, which the FDA classifies as an SNRI antidepressant. However, if you've been taking it for awhile, then some minor withdr...

I just picked up my RX for generic Lortab and was told that lortab will no longer be made, I am a chronic pain sufferer and I have severe back pain along with severe nerve damage, I have been on this medicine for a while now and it works for me, now I have to ask my doctor about some other medicine that may or may not work. I dont know what else that I can use or tolerate. I need information on other types of medicines in this group. ## It will still be made. The tylenol will be lower but the hydrocodone will be in 5, 7.5 and 10 mg. Sometime in 2014 hydrocodone combination products will become Schedule II which means no refills, rx has to be written can't be called in, etc. They will still make it, it is too big of a money maker for the pharmaceutical companies. ## Hello, Vicki! How...
