Can this pill be broken in half and taken? 200 mg is very strong. Half of that dose would be more agreeable. Will it still work as it should? Just not as strong? ## Generally, if the medication is not in an extended release form, I don't see why it wouldn't be safe to divide the tablet in half for a smaller dosage. However, this particular tablet does appear to be extended release and therefore I would NOT encourage anyone to tamper with it in any way, even for legitimate reasons. Just to be sure we are on the same page, this is an oblong green pill with [M] on one side and "200" on the other. And it reportedly contains 200mgs of Morphine sulfate SR (slow release). I ran out of Opana ER 40mg. I take 7 tabs at a time. That is 280mgs. I have Morphine Sulphate ER 200mg each. I take 2000mgs of Zomorph - 5 X 200mgs in morn and eve. Diamorphine is a lot shorter acting, and is very expensive. Explain you're situation to Dr and ask for your dose of at least the Zomorph to be doubled (1 in morn and 1 before bed). Oramorph comes in different strengths and as your on low dose of Zormorph I'd expect your Oramorph to also be a low strength. Oramorph in low strengths is not very good for you're type of pain. I moved from Tennessee to Utah and need find a doctor here that will prescribe me exactly what I'm already on. i get 60 100mg morphine 2x a day and 30 200mg morphine 1x a day and 120 20mg oxycodone 4x a day. don't want start with new dr and him start me out on low dosage that's not gonna do me any good. i don't want waste my time. they can see my file so i don't see what the problem would be of giving me what I'm already taking. ## Hello, Renee! Always call or take the person to your nearest emergency care facility. That said, the only 200mg Morphine tablets in the U.S. are time released and if she ate, so she received all of the Morphine at once, yes, she could have gotten too much of the medication, especially if she does not take it regularly. They are two different kinds of medications, Morphine is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. While Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflamamtory and its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding ands stomach irritation. its a white capsule with m-eslon 10 ## my mother takes m-elson for pain but drinks also not everyday but when she drinks she gets pretty tipsy she is 76 years old and im afraid ....what do i do ## m-eslon capsules is CANADIAN MORPHINE. does morophone alter your ability to think clearly? ## Are you possibly referring to morphine 200mg? I haven't found any medication at all under the name "morophone". To answer your question though, there are a number of potential side effects associated with this medication (i.e. lightheadedness, dizziness, nausea, headache, etc) that could probably alter your perception and thought patterns in a way that may interfere with your mental clarity.
