So I have been taking 20 mg instant release Adderall for years and I cannot seem to find one that is consistently working for me. The pink ones I was recently taking seem to work great but now have almost completely quit working for me. Any suggestions as to which generic is the best? ## Unfortunately, Adderall is not a good medication as its effectiveness is affected by several things including the food we eat, the timing of food, stomach environment, our psychosocial state etc. Consider talking to your doctor about trying a different stimulant such as Vyvanse which may be a better option. ## Hey Tracy, I also have been taking 20mg Adderall IR twice daily for over 3 years. Before that, it was several years of 70mg Vyvanse. I started out with the Sandoz/Eon peach 401's as my first s...

have been taking generic percocet just filled the real percocet but the real does not seem to work like the generic one , is there a difference between the 2? ## They both contain Acetaminophen and Oxycodone, however yes, there can be differences between the name brand and the generic. The name brand is much more precisely manufactured. In order to be approved by the FDA and continue to be marketed it, they have to manufacture under strict regulations that ensure you get the proper dosage of the active ingredients. But, to make the manufacturing process easier and cheaper, the generics do not have to be controlled as strictly. Under federal law, they are allowed to vary in the active ingredients by as much as plus or minus 20%. This means that when taking the generic, you may have been ...

The generic 50-200 carb/levo seems to not be as effective as sinemet. should I get only sinemet, not generics ## If the sinemet works better I would stay with that. Especially when u are not having good results on the generic. Talk to your doc & request "Dispense As Written" and have script written for sinemet. ## Great advice Tracy! I thought I'd mention that generic medications are allowed (by the FDA) to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredients. This factor, along with different inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) could enable you to have a completely different reaction to each medication. Therefore, that may be the cause of the problem you're having with the generic. I've also read that one pill amongst an entire pack/bottle of a gen...

I've been takin zolpidem E 79 for a while n works great. But my local pharmer filled my script wit the purple round pill with M Z2 on it. I no they should work but I jus took my 2nd one in bout 2 hrs while I'm writing this. Is it jus me or r the purple ones weaker. Like I said I'm wide awake this sux. ## No, it isn't just you! There can be differences in generic medications. Under the U.S. FDA regulations, generic medications can differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%. Additionally, generics only have to measure against the name brand and not against each other, which means that the amount of the active ingredient can differ from one generic to the next. Therefore, the news pill you received may not have as muc...

I have been on these pills for over 10 yrs. now. I have taken all different kinds of brands. To me they all have a different effect on the pain. But I have noticed that the blue Watson 540's have a better effect on the pain . I have talked to the pharmacist's about this and they say there is no difference in any of them ## The pharmacists don't want to freak anyone out and the differences aren't significant enough to affect most people that take any given medication…. But yes, there can be slight fluctuations in generic medications that can affect some people. They are allowed to differ from the name brand in the amount of the active ingredients by as much as plus or minus 20%, the FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic window and, when it comes to most medic...

I'm going to get my script soon, ive been taking the Actavis brand (Walgreens) and I asked if my next refill it could be the Greenstone g3722. My dosage I'd 2mg. I has the Mylan xr but would say the ACTAVIS is better. Should I stick to Actavis or go for Greenstone? I haven't tried Sandoz nor Dava. ## Greenstone use to be best as they we're bought out by parent co.of Xanax but they dilluated the formula a few years ago. I've been using the 2mg XR Actavis and their not too bad...so yes Actavis works. ## No one "diluted" the formula when a new company bought them. @Benzolover, you seem like you need some further understanding of what Xanax is and does, just a tad too excited about the drug. ## I'm very informed on this drug. But I just wanted to ask what was...

was taking generic Norco was always feeling very stranged, like I was sluggish. Now was given brand and all of those feeling have disappeared and is working better. is there a difference, for some say it's all the same ingredients. ## Hello, Sue! How are you? The ingredients are the same, but the amount may not necessarily be equal. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, a generic can differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% of the active ingredients. While that's not really a huge difference, it may be enough that the name brand works much better for you. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there any...

Qualitest are just as good as Sandoz and Mylan doesn't come close....That being said, Greenstone are better but my second choice is definitely the 2089V's.... ## It seems like most people here on the site are preferring similar brands to what you mentioned. It must have something to do with the percentage of the active ingredient used and/or presence of certain binders and fillers. Glancing over at other generics on the market, some other manufacturers of 1mg tablets are: Amneal, IP 10, yellow, round, this is an extended release, though. Barr Laboratories, B492, yellow, round CorePharma, Cor188, yellow, round, also an extended release. WHERE CAN I GET ABG 20 MG OXYCOTIN IN COLUMBUS OHIO ## We have no way of knowing what any given pharmacy has in stock, at any given time. That said, there are also no more generics for Oxycontin available on the U.S. market. There is only one manufacturer now and that is for the name brand Oxycontin from Purdue Pharma. Due to the fact that this medication has such a high rate of theft and diversion, this was done to enable the appropriate authorities to keep better track of the supply and where it's going. Are there any other questions or comments?

I was on the 8 mg film strips and they worked great for me... now I have to pay for my suboxone and it adds up so I asked my doctor what would be cheaper for me and she told me the generic pill form would be.. well I hate them, I wake up sick in the mornings and i really feel crappy all day long... maybe it's just me.. idk but I hate them. I just want to feel better. ## Hello, Tiffany! How are you? What are the markings on them? Do you know who the manufacturer is? The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I also took the Watson. Last prescription I received amneal which were awful. Aleve worked better! I threw them away! I did take the Mylan before and they was not too bad. Don't know if any generic now can get close to the Watson. Now I found two different pharmacies that carry mylan and endocet. Seems from reading, Endo does not make the generic endocet only the brand percocet, its qualitest which is now part of Endo since 2010 per Endo website. Confusing to me. Can anyone explain this to me? Since the company Endo really does not make endocet, are they still the best generic or should I stick with the Mylan? ## Hi Lulu, How's it going? Since the drug companies had taken propoxyphene (darvocet ) off the market & my Merck Manuel read that methadone had the same chemical structure, my Dr. Had agreed to let me try methadone in a very small amount for my severe spinal pain. There was nothing left for me or most all older people to try without mental & horrible physical side affect until I started with 1/4 of 10 mg methadone 2 X a day for the 1st yr. After 5 yrs, I am on 20 mg a day & it controls my pain w/ no side effects similar to darvocet. The only generic I would settle for was the mallinckrodt generic as it was better in my opinion than ROXANNE. Then one day I went to pick up my Rx & all they could order was a new brand called Ascend. I called all 12 pharmacies in my whole county & no one has anyth...

I have a prescription for 20mg Opana ERs, and strongly desire to get the newer "generic" version. The "G 73" tablets work better for me, and are more inexpensive. My doctor has checked the product selection permitted box at the bottom of the actual prescription, which I thought meant that a generic version is allowed, but am still having problems. I have a friend that told me that the prescription must read "oxymorphone", and not "opana" in order to get the generic version. Is this true?!? ## No, it doesn't have to be written for the generic/active ingredient to get the generic. However, it depends on whether or not your pharmacy carries it. Have you asked the pharmacist? Did they tell you that they can't give you a generic? Learn more Opana detai...

I've been on butrans patch 20 mcg. For over a year. Suddenly I've been switched to the generic form of butrans. The brand Butrans is best for me because the generic is giving me an upset stomach with headaches and nausea. I feel sick on the generic butrans. I'm sure it's not a good substitute for the brand. The brand Butrans is better medicine in so many ways and more effective. The generic butrans makes me sick. I wish doctors and insurance companies would listen to the patients and stop pushing medicine on me that makes me sick and doesn't work for me and I'm sure many other people will have the same problem. It's dangerous to play with people's lives and switch medicine suddenly from butrans brand to butrans generic!!! Generic doesn't work! I'm...

I am a 69 year old female looking for a pharmacy in or near Hamburg, NY that carries Greenstone generics and specifically hydrocortisone. My reason for requesting this better generic was that I have recently been diagnosed with Addison's Primary, after suffering and dealing with adverse effects since at least 2005 for two days, then again in 2012 for 9 days until getting what we now know was an incorrect diagnosis of SIADH. I researched the hydrocortisone generic Greenstone was far better to use. I could use some assistance in finding just who carries this brand of generic. Thank you. ## Hello, Diane! How are you? I'm sorry, but unfortunately, there is no listing of what pharmacy carries the product from any given manufacture, because such information is very dynamic, and may ch...

I went to my Pain doc and he changed some of my meds..increasing mg dosage from 15 to 20mg oxycodones..along with oxycontin 10 to 20 mg. I know, there is no generic for the oxycontin, only the OP's..what's the best recommended generic brand of oxycodone, if it is such a thing as a 'better generic brand'? now, i am taking the 4811.green, believe it's "qualitest"? i have been satisfied with them but, it's the only brand i have ever tried..so, i really have nothing to compare them to. Maybe, someone might have some better understanding of generic meds, what..if any is better or not as good as another brand? any input would be useful, thanks so much for your time and willingness to answer my questions. ## Hi, Sally! My 89 year old Mom has been on Clonazepam for years for sleep. The Actavis seems to work better for her than even the brand name Klonopin. I'm in withdrawal I had the pink one for 5 years, now, I can't focus, feel dizzy, off on general. I was on Lexapro 20 mg. a day for years. In Aug of 2012 I changed to the generic form. After 2 days, I was having terrible side effects. My pharmacist told me that the generic was exactly the same as the Brand name and that it must be something else wrong. I recently switched back to Lexapro Brand name and have felt so much better that it is unbelievable. I have reported this to the FDA. I know that other people are suffering from this same problem. The more people that report this to FDA, the more likely something will be done about it. I called 18663004374 . I would advise anyone to report their problem with this generic so insurance can't get away with only covering the generic. Good Luck. ## Hello, Grandma! How are you?
