I went to 13 pharmacies in La to fill my prescription and every pharmacy told me they were back ordered and a couple told me they dont carry it because they have been robbed. Ive never had trouble filling it where I live in the Bay Area but I'm down here for the month. I will run out of medicine tomorrow, does anyone know regular pharmacies anywhere near la who usually stock this. ## Have you tried any local hospitals? Many of them have their own affiliated pharmacies, to fill prescriptions for their discharged patients and they are usually also open to the public. Most of them carry a very large range of medications, to accommodate such prescriptions, so you may have better luck there. However, you will have to actually go into the pharmacy, with your prescription in hand, so they ...

I have been taking metoprolol tartrate 50 mg 2x a day for a while now, my doctor just told me to now start taking 2 tablets in the morning and 1 in the evening. I am concerned that 150 mg per day is too much. Can u tell me if this is not a safe dosage or if its ok to take that much? my blood pressure usually runs around 140/85 to 158/92 ## Hello, Rhonda! How are you? I understand your concern, that does seem to be a high amount…but it actually isn't for this medication. Metoprolol can be taken in amounts up to 450mgs a day and it is usually started at the 50mg twice daily dosing, then adjusted until the desired effect is reached, which in your case would be lower blood pressure. Normal levels are considered 120/80 and generally anything over 130/85 requires treatment. The high...

Since last week I am going through Arrhythmia (irregular Heart bits - skipping 10 - 12 bits / min out of 80 -90 bits with Blood pressure 130/90 hg/mm) Is it due to the side effect of the following tablets I am taking daily as per the prescription? 1. Clopitab - A 150 Mg (After lunch) 2. Embeta XR 25 Mg (After Breakfast) 3. Atorva 10 MG (After dinner) Waiting for your responce /advice, as the Local Medical Officer is totally helpless regarding any suggestion/advice regarding the above subject matter. ## Copitab-A contains the active ingredients Clopidogrel and Aspirin, it is used as a blood thinner and to inhibit clotting. I AM USING GLYCIPHAGE 500 MG TWICE DAILY. BUT SUGAR LEVEL AT PP WAS ABOUT 150. DOCTOR PRECRIBED Pioglit 15 Mg ONCE IN DAILY AFTER BREAKFAST ALING WITH SAID GLYCIPHAGE 500 MG . NOW THE LEVEL AT PP IS 133. IS IT POSSIBLE TO REDUCE OR STOP SAID TABLETS OR REDUCE THE TABLET TO ONE ONLY BECAUSE SWALLOWING OF TABLET IS DIFFICULT FOR ME ## I wouldn't suggest cutting out a medication, or reducing your dosage, without consulting with your doctor. Diabetes can cause serious health problems, if it is not controlled and just because your levels have gone down, using the medication, doesn't mean they are going to stay down, once you stop using it. If they are not time released tablets, it may be possible to crush them, or cut them in half, to make them easier to swallow, however, please chec...

I go to a methadone program and have for about 4 years. I've recently had the flu which caused me to vomit up my methadone (I get 5 take home bottles per week). Tried taking another bottle and threw up again. I'm feeling sick from not taking it so I took a 60 mg morphine sulfate pill. Will this help at all? ## It may help stave off the worst of the withdrawals you could experience, since it is also a narcotic. However, before doing so in the future, you really should call the doctor or clinic you are working with and get their advice, first. Taking another narcotic may not be approved and might get you kicked out of the Methadone program. How are you feeling now? ## Because of a heart problem my wife was taken off 150 mg per day immediately and it was replaced by morphine. Dr. s...

I am 70 year old woman. I have mild hypertension since 1996. All along i am taking Amlodipine 5 mg and my bp readings all these 20 years hovers round 120/80 and 130/80.Two years back when i had swelling in the feet my phyisician prescribed Azelsartan 40 mg in the morning and Metxl 25 mg at night. With Metx,l diastolic is much reduced from 80 to 75 or so.But systolic did not reduced considerably. It is still around 150/80 and some times 160/80. Now i would like to take Metxl 25 mg in the morning also and discontinue Azelsartan 40 mg. My physician says in elderly patients controlling systolic pressure to 130 needs multiple drugs which can cause some side effects. Indian studies say systolic pressure 150 is ok if it is between 140 and 150, especially in those who are above 70. In some pati...

I take 100 mg of Losartan but BP is still 140/100. I did increase to 150mg myself. Is this ok. It has seemed to decrease my BP to 130/ 75. ## Hello, Tommie! How are you? The maximum daily dosage is 100mgs and you really shouldn't change the dosage yourself. How long were you taking the 100mg dosage? It can take 3 to 6 weeks for this medication to reach its full efficacy level in your body to see how much it will lower your blood pressure. If you were taking it longer than that, then it may be that it's just not the right medication for you. Have you consulted your doctor? ## I just had an appointment w/ a med doc 3rd of Jan. BP was high but wants to watch it till next appointment in May. Thanks for responding back to my question.

If taking 25 mg of hypercon how many times per day? Would 1 pill in the morning be sufficient on a 130lb 5'5" women? ## Based on my research, Hypercon and the medication Straterra are very similar. I've heard of others on the site being given this medication instead of Straterra because the Hypercon became too expensive. Here's some dosing information for Straterra: Dosing of children/adolescents over 150 pounds body weight and adults: The recommended starting dose for Straterra is (40 mg) per day. The dose may be increased after a minimum of 3 days to reach a daily dose of approximately (80 mg) which is administered either as a single daily dose in the morning or as evenly divided doses in the morning and late afternoon/early evening Dosage should only be increased if n...

I am in a confusing debate with my ex husband: Which is stronger, 30 mg of morphine sulfate E.R or 10 mg of methadone? ## Methadone is stronger than Morphine, just as an example, if you were taking the 30mgs of Morphine, the equivalent dosage of Methadone would only be 3mgs, so it's a roughly 1mg to 10mg ratio. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I was on Methadone tablets for 13 years with a NY pain mgmt doctor who worked alongside an Orthopedic surgeon who originally diagnosed my lumbar-sacral pain from DDD (L5/S1) and nerve damage in my legs, plus osteoarthritis in hips and spine.
