The pain clinic and the Doctor that prescribes my morphine. I dont feel like he has my best interest at heart. He seems to be me like a legalize drug dealer. Im planning on discontinue his service in October 17, 2014 ## Hi mattie, Sorry to hear about your experience with that doctor. If you think about it though, most MD's who work in such a setting ARE pretty much legal drug dealers. Outside of running diagnostics for a specific con...

Please send me a list of ingredients in Morphine /Sulfate ER 100mg tabs. Thank you ! ## This is a generic for Ms Contin and it is made by several companies, so I can't answer your question without knowing the specific manufacturer. Are there any markings on the tablets in question? If you post back with this information, I can then find the ingredient list for you. ## I got some meds that I was told was morphine sulfate ER 100 mg but I am a bit suspicious. I have looked (feels like it) at every morphine image. My pill is round , rusty/red colored with 323 on one side & what (to me) looks like a crescent on the other side. Can anyone help me to make sure I have what I'm supposed to please??? ## It is round with a rust/burnt orange in color and one side has the number 323 ...

How many 15 mg of Morphine Sulfate equal 4 of the 10 mg Hydrocodone?? ## Morphine and Hydrocodone are generally considered equal in strength, when taken orally, so a 10mg Morphine tablet would be equal to 10mgs of Hydrocodone, this your 15mg Morphine is actually a stronger dose than what you were taking of the Hydrocodone. 3 of the Morphine 15mg tablets would be 45mgs and that would actually still be 5mgs stronger than the 40mgs in 4 of the Hydrocodone tablets. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Hydrocone is a short acting pain medication. The morphine is long acting. ## 2 anna half roughly equal strength as morphine and hydrocodone are equal strength

Just prescribed for on Morphine Sulfate SA. Would like to know to what effect this will be different from 4-10 mg hydrocodone/500 APAP, daily ? ## They are both narcotics, so the side effects are going to be very similar, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. However, the SA stands for sustained action, so the Morphine is a time released product that is meant to help give you better pain control. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am trying to get help with my meds. My $10,000 cap for the yr has reached its limit. I take morphine sulfate ir 30 mg. Please reply. Thank you ## I was in two head-on collisions that ruptured my back, vertebrae and my lower lumbar. I've been taking morphine sulfate instant release and morphine sulfate extended-release for at least 5 to 6 years. It works for me. What do I tell the doctor? ## To the original poster, what is your exact question? Are you saying you can no longer afford to get this medication? Have you informed your doctor? There might be assistance programs available to help you. While they are not common with generic medications, there may be some for name brands, but it is really going to depend on what your doctor thinks would be best for you. Can you post back wit...

For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. ER morphine left, but I don't want to accidentally overdose...do I still have a higher tolerance from being on it for so many years? ## Old mom The best and safest ...

My insurance change thus my pm doc changed. He switched me from 100mg er morphine 3xday with 4 10/325 percocet daily and 2 350mg soma to up to 3 30mg ir morphine 4x daily only for pain. No breakthrough med and no muscle relaxer. Am I going to stiffer major wd?or is this captains with what I was taking? Been on for 5 years to build up to this amount, two failed back surgeries, constant pain and spasms, with some foot surgeries and other pain issues. Any advise will help I'm terrified of the wd my body is dependant plus need to be able to function, move around and take care of "life" as it happens ## How are you doing? Has anyone out there taken this drug twice a day and had persistent nausea??? I thought I'd adjust to the nausea, but it's persistent. Anyone got any advice for me to help with this persistent nausea.? I'm also weak and sleepy. ## Hello Betty, According to the [1] NIH, nausea and vomiting is the most common side effect of this medication, greater than 10% of users who administered this medication experienced these adverse reactions. Good news is other users who have taken this medication say that it gets better with time, but the bad news is I couldn't find any medical documentation that states how long on average this time frame is. I feel like if you have these symptoms so often that it's become a problem for your way of life it would be best to discuss it with you...

I have morphine sulfate tablet (100)mg and wanted to know what CR means? I know the R is for release but what is the C stand for?, Thanks ## Controlled, this means that it's a time released formulation, which would be a generic for MS Contin, other similar markings that mean the same thing are XR, SR and ER. This is a narcotic, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

Can you take Morphine Sulfate ER 15mg with Adderall? I'm scared as hell!... My Dr. pushed the Morphine on me over taking just Hydrocodone 10/325... & this concerns me :/ ## My doc insisted on switching me from 5-325 Norco to Morphine Sulfate as well, and it was the WORST thing that's happened to me, EVER. He felt that it was best to switch to the supposedly long-acting Morphine rather than increase my dose of Norco (I had been on the lowest possible dose of Norco--5-325--for about EIGHT years, so this would have been the very first dosage increase in all those years. It's certainly not like I had kept asking for more pills or bigger doses or anything but none the less, he felt it was better to switch to Morphine instead of slightly increasing the Norco.) Morphine is SUBS...

My mother is having such a difficult time finding a pharmacy that has her morphine sulfate 100 mg. Her normal pharmacy does not have them, she has been on medication since her accident 18 years ago, so you can imagine what her body goes through when she is without them due to the pharmacy not having them in stock! I'm sick of the pharmacies treating people with real problems and who SERIOUSLY need the medication, bad because of the other people who ruin it for them. Does anyone have any suggestions of pharmacies? We've called and gone to all we can think of. ## Hello, Val! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're mother is having. Morphine sulfate oral solution..... 100mg per 5ml How much shoud be taken to ease chronic back pain? ## From what I could gather, patients who have not been receiving opioid analgesics should be started on morphine sulfate in the following dosing range: Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution: 10 to 20 mg every 4 hours as needed for pain. "The dose should be titrated based upon the individual patient's response to their initial dose of morphine sulfate. This dose can then be adjusted to an acceptable level of analgesia taking into account the improvement in pain intensity and the tolerability of the morphine by the patient." I know it's not a direct answer but everyone responds to these drugs differently, so it's probably wise to just give it a trial run at a specific dosage ...

1. I now take15 mg morphine sulfate TID which makes me sleepy and does not handle my pain, plus up to 10/325 oxycodone 4xday to handle pain. (orig. on 30 mg morphine sulfate + oxy, and reduced at my request due to sleepiness) 2. 10/325 mg oxycodone taken alone 4xday is effective 80 or so % of the time in treating my pain, and does not cause sleepiness. Why the difference? My pain mgmnt physician wants me to rely more on the morphine sulfate. Thank you so much. ## While they are both narcotics, their base chemical structure is different and may affect any given person differently. I had the same problem with Morphine, I could barely ever stay awake, while taking it, however, Oxycodone makes me a bit drowsy, but works much better for me. How long does morphine sulfate 15 mg ir last? I take 2 a day. I also take morphine sulfate 30 mg er 3 a day. I'm confused as to when I am supposed to take the morphine sulfate it. I've had a spinal fusion & fractured back and a fractured neck. ## The regular release, which you refer to as IR is usually taken every 8 hours, and the ER every 12 hours, but you should ultimately follow the prescribing instructions, because only a medical professional can help you decide what is safest and best for you. I ran out of Percocet 8 days early. I know people make excuses as to why this happens, but I went to jiffy lube and forgot that my coin purse was on the seat. It had 15 pills in it! I put them in that coin purse, in case of an emergency. Luckily, I still have a few more. My dr. prescribed morphine sulfate 15 mg twice a day. I have not taken it yet. I have been on the Percocet for 3 weeks. Terrified of going through withdrawal. Do you think the Morphine will help eliminate withdrawal? I am also on Gabapentin. Please any response is appreciated. ## Please help.Very anxious and afraid of withdrawals ## Hello, Gabrielle! How are you? Since the maximum dose available of Oxycodone in Percocet is 10mgs and that is equivalent to 15mgs of Morphine, you should actually be fine. The FDA classifies...

I take suboxone 12/3 mg once a day. Can I take one 100 mg morphine sulphate with it once a day? ## Hi Rob, According to umm.edu, suboxone shouldn't be taken with any opioids (i.e. morphine), since it can block its effects and potentially send you into immediate withdrawals - accompanied by a number of undesirable side effects such as increased anxiety, insomnia, nausea, difficulty breathing, sweating, cramps, etc. Having read that, it sounds to me like the wisest thing to do would probably be to contact your doctor about alternative ways to manage your pain in the event that suboxone 'or' morphine doesn't get the job done on their own. Some feedback I've read in other threads here even recommend trying methadone over suboxone; stating that it works better for their p...
