Hello, I have terrible heartburn and taking Ocid 20. But now I am pregnant of 19 weeks and taking it regularly. Is it safe to take during pregnancy. I am worried ## Hi, Sanu! Sorry about the heartburn. Have you looked at your diet to see what's causing it? In many cases there are food or drink triggers and discontinuing your indulgence in them may resolve the issue. As to this medication, it contains the active ingredient Omeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor and while there have been no human studies done, animal testing has shown that there is some risk to the baby, if a mother takes this medication while pregnant. Learn more Omeprazole details here. You need to talk to your doctor about it, I've no doubt that they can help you find something you can use that is safer a... ...

When took purbac i was not aware that i was two weeks preg, after 4 week on medication i discoverd that i was 6 weeks pregnant and i stopped taking them. now i am concerned about the hurm it will do on my unborn baby as it clearly state that it should not be administered during pregnancy. Please help. ## Hello, Mkhize! How are you? Congratulations on the pregnancy! There may be some risk, but generally the earlier you've taken it and stopped it, the lower the risk. The best thing to do would be to inform your doctor that you were taking, so they can watch the baby for any possible problems or complications. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

The Elevit is a multivitamin and mineral supplement, that is used to help make sure the mother has the proper nutrition required to keep both her and the baby healthy. A lack in vital nutrients can lead to problems for the mother, as well as birth defects for the baby. Tapering off from 10mg?
2 Replies RSS
I have been on Prednisone for 3 months, taking 10mg a day. It was not for a pain condition, but rather to aid and support pregnancy. Now that I am 12 weeks pregnant, they are tapering me off. I am to go from 10mg to 5mg for a week, then 2.5mg for a week, then cease. I have been reading up on tapering and a LOT of people refer to dropping 1mg at certain intervals. Is going to 5mg then 2.5mg too fast? I'm unsure whether other people who are dropping 1mg do so because they were on a higher dose initially, but I did wonder..... Obviously i do not want to go into adrenal shock, particularly with the pregnanct. But I am also desperate to get off the Prednisone as well and have been counting the days to start tapering down. ## Yes, it really depends on how high of a dose you were on and fo... ...
