Ketoconazole /kitkonzl/ is a synthetic, imidazole-derived antifungal medication used primarily to treat non-fungal infections. Ketoconazole is sold commercially as a tablet for oral administration, and in a variety of formulations, such as creams and shampoos, for topical administration.
