Nitrous Oxide Overview

Nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, nitrous, nitro, or NOS[1] is a chemical compound with the formula N 2O. It is an oxide of nitrogen. At room temperature, it is a colourless, non-flammable gas, with a slightly sweet odour and taste. It is used in surgery and dentistry for its anaesthetic and analgesic effects. I had no Idea you have to be over 21 to purchase a Can for a buck at Dollar Tree. I have bought many cans in my life, knew Nitrous is closely watched here but I was surprised the register asks for ID! ## Apparently whipped cream cans are a common source for nitrous oxide (which can be dangerous if too much is inhaled). I came across an older news article from CBS stating that actress "Demi Moore was reportedly hospitalized after inhaling nitrous oxide" Ref: Perhaps it was articles like this that caused stores to take a more preventative approach in the matter.
