Polystyrene sulfonates are polymers derived from polystyrene by the addition of sulfonate functional groups. They are widely used as ion-exchange resins to remove ions such as potassium, calcium, and sodium from solutions in technical or medical applications. if regular bowel movements do not occur, & taking kionex for potassium problem, does it still work to elimate excess potassium? liquid dosage is taken 3 times a week. ## Actually, the medication details say that it shouldn't be taken if you are suffering from constipation.
