What Is The Shelf Life Of Alprazolam Before It's Useless? (Page 4)

I have a bottle of alprazolam from 2005 and I'm wondering if it's still good? It's 4 years old at the time of writing this.

Dean, me thinks you have an anger problem. Why is the knee jerk reaction to Jesus often an explosion of anger, I wonder? Tabetha wasn't attacking anyone...you are, for some reason. If you have faith then what Tabetha says makes sense; if you don't, it won't. The Bible tells us that. Having been an addict, and current user of xanax and ativan for flying, and a relapsed addict,(clean at this moment :) my faith often helps me make good choices but I still got free will; I ain't no robot...so please don't come down on us Christians so hard. I felt the same as you until I took a step of faith and actually read/studied my Bible. I just came on here to see if 12 year old xanax I scored at my neighbor's estate sale are ok to take (they didn't even accept any payment for them!)...like for flying, going to Angel Stadium, etc. places where I get panicky. Anyone know if 12 is over the hill in xanax years? Do they just lose their efficacy or do they become toxic?

That is horrible advice. A person may have a life threatening illness that requires medication.

I won't argue the existence or power of God with you but you, as a Christian, should consider the fact that God gave us the ability to create medication.

If you want to give advice based on your religious views, please consider telling people to take their medication AND pray.

I need to destroy Xanor (alprazolam) SR inside the blister pack. The pack should still be intact so I am thinking to inject something in each blister to destroy it or to neutralise it. Any suggestions?

It's funny, I'm reading these comments and the xanax that I'm wondering about is kicking in while I sit here and laugh at what seems to be an almost four year long joke. Thank Jesus, xanax, religious trollers, and all my fellow anxious people for putting a smile on my face. Bahaha

Why can't one find useful truthful actual medical advice on Googled questions about drugs. instead I am forced to scim through uninformed anecdotal bull s***. I've read posts from folks who need Jesus to hold there hands before they can take a piss. As well, ad posts from pill popping hypochondriacs. Why no real tangible advice from someone qualified to say a pill will last so many months or years after the experiation date on the bottle?

I just procured a bottle of 0.5 xanax from 1987. I have a pretty high tollerance, easily I can take 4mg at a time. about 40 mins ago I took 4=2mg they feel like the ones I get at the Pharm this month. so I would say they have a very long shelf life, if kept out of sunlight, high temps, and moisture. In the time I wrote this they have begun to fully kick in.... hope this helps

Panic attacks are real! I got them when I was 50. When the psych told me what the problem was and gave me the xanax prescription, I only had to use 3 of the 60 pills I had and I was fine after that. Understanding the problem is solution # 1. I do keep the drugs with me just in case. It is a scary thing.

This is are people asking questions concerning things that could possibly kill them if they were to follow wrong information. Pray to Jesus is Not a helpful answer to people's medicals. Do you know the answer to the question. No you didn't. So don't give pray to Jesus as an answer. It's as good as saying don't do anything!! It's not helping. What if someone want's to know If he should take his insulin because he's a diabetic and he missed a dose or overdosed by accident and he can't get to his doctor and he can't make it to the hospital. Or a man with symptoms of a heart attack. You tell him just pray?? I know you "Believe" and I'm sure you're coming from good place in your heart but, maybe a good idea would be to say well I've heard this, OR I DON'T KNOW the full answer to you question. And maybe at the end add I've found prayer Has helped me personally and you may want to consider it. Just a thought. I won't say if I'm a believer or not but bottom line I just want you to understand that is not what this forum is for. You know the medical answer. tell it. If not say I don't know but I'll pray for you. Or best of all say nothing when you don't know the medical answer. Take care and try not to take offense.
