I think what you may be referring to is a misunderstood name for the medication Phenergan, which contains the active ingredient Promethazine.

It is an antihistamine that's most commonly used to help prevent nausea and vomiting, but since it's available over the counter in some countries, there are people that take it for its sedative like effects and to help them gain weight.

Learn more Phenergan details here.

Is that what you wanted to learn about?

I have had a gastric bypass for weight loss in 1995 and restructure bypass in 2000 and 2004 and many stomach and liver surgeries which what the surgeons didn't think I'd survive the liver cancer from 5 yrs ago. Now every 4-5 weeks for the last 6 months I've ended up in the ER for being sick with vomiting and bloody stools. At ER I was given evaluations, which were ok, IV's, sent home, by by ER Dr's, and by not calling my Dr's. when I see my Dr's they are upset, as they aren't notified. Though I'm cleared up by the time I see him. More money for copays for Medicare, and my private insurance and seeing my Dr.. Ambulances have been called a few times as I passed out a few times and hit my head, and they feel I could of gotten to the ER some other way. I live alone and my nearest family member lives over 700 miles from me. So ive spent months sending letters of aggregation of appeals with letters from the Dr's and hospital, finally everything was paid other than the copay. I told the ambulance co after 8 months of not bothering to help me other than send me to collections, they can write it off, im not paying it. Period. Thanks for letting me sound off. But does anyone else have longtime issues from gastric bypass surgery like I'm having?

Sounds like you may have a urinary tract infection, could be a bladder infection, or maybe you have something going on with your prostate. Regardless, you should go see a medical professional for treatment. It doesn't sound like you can cure it on your own. I would however, suggest if you do go on antibiotics to take a probiotic with it. Sometimes, antibiotic can destroy your good gut bacteria, leaving you with only the bad. The probiotics help new, good, bacteria flourish, so that you don't end up with something worse, like C- Diff.
