Cipla Simvastatin Tablet Uses

The doctor gave me cipla simvastatin 10mg and furosemide 40mg to use but did not explain why or what i should use these for. Please help. What does this medication help with?

Simvastatin is used to help lower cholesterol. The U.S. FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches.

Furosemide is used to remove excess fluid from the body to help lower blood pressure. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration.

I am very interested in how the pills work. How will I notice that the cholesterol is not high? How do I perform the measurements?

I experienced blurred vision while taking this. It turns out that this is one of the more common vision related side effects per a PubMed report.

"The most highly reported ocular adverse events associated with statins were blurred vision (48.4%) and visual impairment (25.7%)."
