What Is A Stronger Prescribed Pill

I AM TAKING HYDROCO/APAP 5-325MG TAB 1 PILL EVERY 6 HRS FOR PAIN I AM IN TEARS. ISN'T THERE A STRONGER PILL FROM DR.

Yes, there are many stronger pills. You should call your doctor and tell them that your medication is not helping the pain. I hope you get some relief soon.

Hi Gary,

Post #1 is right about there being a lot of other options for pain relief; many of which are stronger than a 5mg dose of hydrocodone + 325mg of acetaminophen.

If it were me, I would talk with my doctor about upping the dose of hydrocodone to 7.5mg or 10mg, since that is considered to be the "next step up" in terms of potency.

From there it seems like oxycodone, opana, dilaudid, fentanyl, extended release meds, etc, are reserved for more serious or long term cases of chronic pain management.. but that is just my own perspective on things.

Ultimately it will be up to you and your doctor to determine the next best alternative.
