Weight Gain From Prednisone?

I was wondering if taking Prednisone can cause weight gain? If so, is it hard for that weight to come off?

I ate an awful lot while taking prednisone but the therapy was short-term so I was able to regain my usual weight

this is a drug that is produced by your adreaneal gland. it will cause weight gain esp. in the stomach but will go away when you stop taking it

I have been on this drug 2 seperate times. The first time I gained over 70 lbs and I was only on this drug for a month. I was not able to lose the weight. it only started to come off slowly two years later. Now I am back on it again for a month but have only gained about 10 lbs so far.

This is a very hard drug for your bones and your weight.Everytime I even look at prednisone I gain 20 pounds.It takes forever and alot of prayers to lose it.In my own expeience not only did I gain over a hundred pounds while on the medicine but also have what they call a camels hump on my upper back.I also have all my teeth destroyed.Recently I have found out I have osteoperoses and arthritis through out my body.I was given so much of it one time while in the hospital they had to give me 3 shots to bring my blood sugar down.I am not a diabetic.So if you have to take it make sure you take alot of supplements to replenish what it takes from your body.
