Vyvanse Urine Drug Test

I took 40mg of Vyvanse on Saturday and had a u/a on Tuesday. Will I pass?

I know this is an older thread but as many people may have similar questions regarding their (illicit or legal prescription) use of amphetamines and what results can be expected regarding urinalysis drug toxicology reports, I figured I'd post this: the answer to this specific question would depend on the frequency that the inquirer uses (used) vyvanse. Their dosage (40mg) was a pretty low therapeutic dosage and based on the way they phrased the question, I'd assume that they didn't take vyvanse on a regular basis, but rather a PRN (as needed) prescription basis or an intermediate illicit basis for recreational purposes (again pretty low dose to obtain any recreational value). Either way, if my assumption is right, and they only took it on an occasional basis (illicit or not) then it's likely that their immunoassay urinalysis results were negative for amphetamines. However, if they took vyvanse (even therapeutic doses) on a daily basis then they likely tested positive. Depending on why they were being tested (i.e. Probation, employment, clinical assessment) IF they had tested positive some situations (i.e. Clinical/probational purposes) would usually require a confirmation test (most commonly GS/MS test) in order to accurately differentiate between amphetamine (only) findings and/or amphetamine/methamphetamine findings. If the latter was found then another test would be used to determine an accurate L/D ratio meaning that it would look for certain predetermined percentages (which are known to correlate with illicit vs prescription amphetamine use) of the amphetamine and the methamphetamine concentrations in order to conclude whether the source of the positive result was due to methamphetamine or a particularly strong (or high dosage of) prescription amphetamines. If the secondary confirmation test results indicate amphetamine only, then no further testing would be required as long as the individual had disclosed their use of certain OTC medications (Vicks vapor inhaler/suedofed Etc.) or had disclosed their prescribed use of Vyvanse (or another prescription with amphetamine properties such as all stimulant based ADHD medications, phentermine for weight loss and obesity Etc). It should also be noted that a few (like 3 total) prescription medications used in the US either have chemical derivatives of methamphetmine and/or metabolize into methamphetmine. Long answer summarized; the initial use of immunoassay urinalysis drug screens could have multiple drug factors (interactions/Cross interactions) which would account for positive (presumed) amphetamine findings (all of the aforementioned OTC, RX and/or illicit possibilities listed above). If a positive result is found and no medication use has been disclosed to account for the amphetamine findings then a confirmation test should always be performed in order to accurately determine the source and/or validity of the initial findings. If that test indicates a methamphetamine source then...well I guess they'd better have a RX to account for it or pray the urinalysis wasn't for probational or other legal purposes.

To your knowledge, would it be possible to detect that someone is abusing prescribed Vyvanse via urinalysis? Specifically, the suspected abused in question is prescribed 50 mg/1 daily; however, the entire 30-day Rx is consumed within 5-10 days of filling the Rx leaving them with none until they are allowed to refill. If such abuse is detectable, what timeframe would be ideal for the urinalysis sample collection? Thanks!

I've been drug tested 1 time a week sometimes even taking a vyvanse 12 hours before. I abuse it at times but I usually take vitamin c pill that night then flood my system peeing as much as possible. Wake up and flood it some more until the test. Take vitamin e or biotin in morning so your pre is still a little yellow

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew the chances of my urine drug test coming back positive? I took roughly 20mg of vyvanse at 7:30am (totally not thinking about the fact that I had a pre-employment drug test at 2:30pm that same day). I am a 20 year old female, about 155lbs and 5'9. I was really hoping to have the drug test come back negative so if anyone knows the chances of the test coming back positive or negative, please let me know.
