I have taken valuim on and off for the last month to help me sleep. Now my dr has asked me to do a drug panel because I'm prescribed 75 mil fentanyl patches for pain and they're recognized as being heavily abused in the town I live in. So I want to know how long the valium will work in my body before being excreted?

Determining exactly how long valium is working in the body depends on many variables, including which kind of drug panel is being used. Valium - also known as Benzodiazepine - can be found within a shorter period of time on some diagnostics, but can be "visible" for up to three months in others.

The timetable for determining whether valium is still active in the body is also dependent upon each individual's metabolism, body mass, age, hydration level, physical activity, health conditions and other factors, making it almost impossible to determine an exact time frame.

Personally, I would still try a drug panel kit from a local drug store.

I do understand your concern, but there are many different types of anti-anxiety medications which are also muscle relaxers like valium. If it were me, I would ask my doctor his opinion or see an internist or phychiatrist and which are able to prescribe them if they deem appropriate. Its very common for pain management people to take xanax, valium, etc. Hope this helps!
