Is this legal and do I have a chance of fighting it. The doc. Dr. Alvin Pelt. is god at the clinic. Any ideas on what I can do would be welcome. Hopefully i can figure somethisg out b4 I blow my head off. Anyone out there whos gone thru a methadone withdrawal understands. Thanks all.

That's a lie. No clinic on earth would keep raising your dose as a result of drug screens with cocaine found in your system. In fact legally they would do the exact opposite. Before posting crap realize there are people who actually know the law. And no clinic on earth would kick you out for complaining about being on such a high dose you claim you never asked to be on. Get a grip.

Last year when I started going to a pain management doctor he had me sign a contract. I had a list of meds and one of them Is adderall which I've been on for 4 years. Well I just got a letter saying I've been released for not complying. I called & they said I tested+ for adderall. I said I do every month & I've been on it for almost 5 yrs. I was told the doctor decided to release me because of it. Can he do that? He knew I was taking adderall when I started. I'm scared, as I was prescribed 50 mgs of methadone daily.

I been going for over 3 years. I was on a 240 dose. I came down from 240 to 90 in 3 months. The doctor didn't know how to detox me, so i went down 8 mg every week. I went in detox for over 2 months day and night. I was still sick every day and night. I can't afford it anymore but i pay every week. I failed my lab screens for over 2 months, and now they want me to go to classes 3 nights a week from 6 to 9. I work every day and drive 75 miles every day to get my dose. I don't have time for classes and refused, so they are going to drop me off of 10 mg per day in 10 days. Can they do that to me? I'm a diabetic. What can I do? When I started this med I didn't have any cavities, but now 3 years later, my teeth pop out like popcorn. They are all bad. I think they should fix me teeth.

You need to find out who they are accredited by. I'm having trouble with my clinic too . Then file a complaint with whom they are accredited by

Wow, how about you try to be helpful rather than accuse and blame him for his situation. You don't know his life, maybe he needed 180mg, ppl at my clinic are at 200 plus, just because you don't need that much does not mean nobody else in the world needs that much. Obviously a doctor, someone more educated then you decided he did need that much. Idk as far as what he did to be kicked off, if 1 u/a is the real cause, that's strange cause it takes 9 a year, or 3 in a row at my clinic in wa state. But to say he doesn't need that much and he should have detoxed in the 5 years he's been going is ignorant and stupid for you to say. Don't think you know peoples lives or what they need, it makes you sound like a ****.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? OF COURSE THEY ARE OBLIGATED!!! HOW DO YOU THINK THEY GET PAYED?

IF THEY DON'T WANT TO BE IMMORAL, ROBOTIC, HEARTLESS AND SO ON THEN THEY ARE OBLIGATED BY BASIC HUMAN COMPASSION, RIGHT? But they would rather be nurses, counselors, doctors and whatever more than they want to be human.

Yeah we got one of those types in RI. His name is Dr.John Strauss. He's from North America but got his education at a Caribbean diploma mill called SABA. He then became a Naturopathic Specialist. Naturopathy is recognized in 16 U.S. States and is basically a dietician. Cash flow got low since he's a SABA certified M.D. now works as medical director in a methadone clinic. Also is a suboxone doctor though he may have put that on hold.for now. He's petty and is kind of a slime trying to set people up. Doesn't respect his patients.

The methadone program my daughter is on doesn't seem to want to let her get off the methadone. My daughter hates it and has tried to get them to taper her off of it and they never let her go below 30mgs before giving some excuse as to why going any lower would not be a good thing to do at the time, and then they make her raise her dose back up. She is CPS involved and it is required that she follow the recommendations of the program or it's a black mark against her and her child could be taken. They get funded for every person on the program. If a person gets off the methadone and off the program, they lose the funding for that person. Do you see where I am going with this? They get these people off heroin and and on to methadone, which is synthetic and worse to get off. The withdrawal is way worse than heroin!! Once these people are on the methadone, they do nothing to try and encourage or require them to start tapering off.

They can stay on the program as long as they want and nothing is ever said. But now my daughter has been tapering off all the way down to 30mgs, and they coming up with reason after reason as to why she should go back UP on her milligrams!!! I would not believe it had I not witnessed all of this myself and watched my daughter go through this. I always thought that the methadone program was there to help people get off of heroin and help them to ease with the pain from the withdrawal but it doesn't seem to be about that at all. It seems to be that they just get them off of heroin and hooked onto their synthetic form of heroin (methadone) and will keep them on there for life if they want to be!! Why would they take them off of one drug and put them on another that is worse, by far more addictive, and by far worse to withdraw from? I can't believe that it's legal!!! How should it be legal? Looks to me like it's nothing but greed behind a very evil program. The program is evil, that's all there is to it. Their intentions are not good. It's all about the almighty dollar and they don't seem to care too much about the people that they are profiting off of.

Ok, before I start I just want to give you a quick summary of my situation..

I'm a recovering heroin addict who has been on & off for around 14 yrs. During that time I have also been to several methadone clinics in Houston, TX so I pretty much know the in's & out's of how these places are suppose to work. My girlfriend & I have been 2 yrs clean (excluding methadone) from everything and have actually been doing really good. We both have jobs to keep us busy, and pretty much have everything on lock. Here is where the problem lies.. We have been going to this clinic for about 8 months now, and everything started off fine. Never failed any UAs. Always paid. But they recently started losing a lot of patients due to the clinic no longer accepting medicade, TODA (State funding), etc. Meaning the only people who are left pay in cash (they don't even accept debit or credit). Anyways, the past 4+ months they have been hounding everyone daily for payment, & continuing to tell us to "zero out" every week. We both get paid bi-weekly so we end up paying every other week as we also have other bills to pay too. This is nothing new. We have been paying like this since we started. We have never let our debt get over $140 ($70/week) & zero out after every two weeks, but the director has started threatening us saying that if we don't paying weekly she will deny us not only our take homes, but our daily dose as well. Now I have been to probably around 5 or 6 clinics in the Houston area, & have never heard of someone being denied a dose over payment issues. I understand that they can taper (administrative detox) you off over a certain amount of time, but to just straight up not dose you over a payment just does not sound legal at all. So my questions are...

1) In the state of Texas is it illegal to deny a patient their dose? If yes, does it differentiate between a payment issue, substance abuse issue, anything else, etc?

2) If they choose to taper you off; what is the legal amount of time in which they allow you to do it in? (Ex. A week? 2 weeks?)

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Omg!!". That is insane. Federal Regulations for OpiodTteatment Programs can be downloaded and printed. Your program is in violation and liable for your relapse if one occurs. I'm experiencing control issues and abuses of authority at the program I attend in Albany. I contacted the Justice Center of NYS as well as the compliance unit and the Executive Chief Officer of the program. I won't stop until I'm heard and heads roll. My life is not a toy and the physical pain of detox is not something to take lightly. When we stay the course and fight for our rights we see results. Don't give up until you are heard and someone is held accountable for their gross misjudgment and violation of proper protocol. Send letters to governors...assemblymen...etc. Put an article in your local newspaper. Contact the Legal Action Center in your area. Keep me posted. I'll keep you posted as well.
