Umbilical Drug Testing
UpdatedMy best friend had her baby 2 days ago. She was highly addicted to Opana pain medication. At 6 months she finally saw a doctor and was put on Subutex. She would do ok for a little while then relapse all the way up to her last month when she realized she would end up taking her baby. She had lowered herself down to a small amount of the Subutex so the baby hasn't needed anything to help him with the withdrawals. Yesterday she thought she was going home when a social worker showed up and said they were testing the umbilical cord first. Then they would let her know if she can take him home. Since she was doing drugs up until the last month will that show up and will they keep her baby because of it?
