Took Althea Pills After Intercourse

I drank 2 Althea pills immediately right after intercourse. This will prevent me from getting pregnant right? I've been taking it until today but my period hasn't come yet and it's been two weeks. Before the intercourse I am already 2 days late.

No, oral contraceptives, such as Althea, will only prevent pregnancy if you take the right dosage of them within 24 hours of unprotected intercourse. You can't just casually take 2 and expect it to work.

Have you been checked for pregnancy, yet? Have you consulted your doctor?

If you're not pregnant, then I suggest you start taking Althea, or another contraceptive regularly every day to prevent such scares in the future.

Hi Verwon! Thank you for your response, I really really! appreciate it.
I've still taking the pill until today and still there's nothing yet. I did a pregnancy test yesterday morning and it came out negative like the first test last Sunday.
Here's what happened. My last period starts last September 17, 2013 and the last drops was September 23, 2013. 7 days period and I am supposed to have my period last October 17, 2013 but I haven't so I thought maybe tomorrow but still nothing. October 19, 2013 Saturday, We did it knowing that my period will come any moment. (no intercourse between Sept.24 and Oct.18) I am already 2 days late before the deed is done. I drank 2 pills right after it and continue until today. I used pregnancy test last October 27 Sunday and October 31 Thursday, yesterday and it both came out negative but still no period today. I'm going to consult a doctor tomorrow and I'm scared :(. I'm all stressed out and paranoid I can't focus on my work or even focus on anything. I miss being genuinely happy :(

hi nrebul.. did you finish all the pills in the pack? i think after you have consumed it all you will wait for the bleeding to start. im not quiet sure though.

hello may i ask something. my girlfriend and I had intercourse last december 11 at 4pm. then i wasnt sure if i cum insde but took the rest of the sperm out, somehow im still worried because i think theres a little amount of sperm that went out inside of her. we went to the drugstore and bought some althea pills, she drank 1 pill at 8PM then 3x a day for 4 days. her menstruation period is 15th, now that it is december 17, im worried because she still has no signs of menstruation. is the althea pills effective? why is she delayed? is it because of the pills?

I used althea as an e-pill for a prolonged time. I had intercourse during my ovulation window. I took althea the next day, 1tab every 6 hours for 3 days then 2 tabs every 12hrs for 5 days and 1 tab every 12 hours for 2 days. I stopped taking the pills, then after 10 days I got my period.

Hi, I hope you guys can help. Is it okay to take Althea pills right after intimacy? We performed unprotected intercourse last October 27 around 1pm that is yesterday (tuesday). I'm pretty sure that my partner withdrew on time, but I wanted to be sure. So is it okay to take Althea pills today? Can I be one hundred percent sure I won't get pregnant?

I have my althea right now.Im planning to start to use they said, we should use any protection like condom for the next 7days.So it means to say that on the 8th day and rest day until 21th tablet is my safe day?thanks

Hi, I just want to ask if it's ok if you took 2 pills in a day? Am not sure if i missed a pill so I took 2 pills since the day that was indicated on my pack is not the same day as today. My remaining pills are only 2 now, am I still safe if I have intercourse? Am not really sure when it started: the incorrect day that was indicated on the pack. Maybe I chose the incorrect day at the 1st day I took the pill because usually am taking the 1st pill every Monday and the one indicated on my pack was Sunday, but then again, I am not sure if the correct 1st day was a Sunday or a Monday. Please help, thank you! Hoping for your kind response.

Uuwi kxe aswa q sa 29 so i decided to take dis pills ngaun 21 tablet lang sya e mttpos sya sa 26 wag daw muna magtke after 7 days panu pag nag intercourse kme ng aswa q pag uwi nya my posibilidad b n mbubuntis ako? Question: I've been taking Althea for almost a year now. Last Aug 28 was my fertility window and had intercourse that day. But I haven't missed any pill since i started the pack on Aug 17. is there a chance that ill be pregnant? though ive had my period last september 14, im still worried. Please answer. thanks.

Hi. I went to two different OBs less than 24 hours after the contact. Both gave me the same prescription but I don't think it applies to everybody as both of them were counting something after I put to details my menstrual cycle (first and last day of period and days passed after the last period). As prescribed by both OBs, I took 6 Althea pills. 12 hours after I was advised to take 4 pills. The next 2 days, I will only have to take 2 pills per days. That's a total of 14 pills. I was assured that after the 14, there was no need to consume the remaining pills. Hope this helps but still IT'S BETTER TO CONSULT YOUR OB.

Hi. I regularly used Althea pills. Me and my partner had intercourse on the 6th day of my new pack of Althea. Because of my worry I took 2 pills before and after the intercourse.
