Teva Diazepam

This medication is bad compared to 1mg Alprazolam. I had to take a higher dose than normal to feel the same level of relief.

Hi nuuke, how are you? Sorry to hear about your experience with Teva's diazepam.

One thing to be aware of when you are taking generic meds, is that they are permitted by the FDA to contain up to 20% more or less of the actual active ingredients. This means that if one generic has -20% of the active ingredient, another generic has +20%, that's a 40% difference in dosages, plus a different set of binders and fillers that effect the absorption rate/bio-availability! It's no wonder everyone reacts differently to these drugs.

I could be wrong in assuming this, but that's probably why they make generics so much cheaper as well... since you never really know if your coming up short or getting the full amount of milligrams that are displayed on the label.

I realize that this is an old post, however, I wanted to point out that 1 mg of alprazolam (Ativan) is equivalent to 20 mg of diazepam (Valium). Alprazolam is 20 x more potent than diazepam. This is likely the reason why you needed to take more diazepam to get the same effect. For more information, please see benzo.org.uk/manual.

I've taken anxiety meds that have made me a little paranoid, I think because of the side effects. Can anyone tell me how the round white teva pill made you feel?

That's because teva (decent brand if off actual doctor/pharmacy) diazepam is a lighter benzo than alprazolam or xanax as it's also known. For example 1mg xanax = 20mg diazepam (genuine from your doctor/pharmacy). So 2mg Xanax = 40mg diazepam. Clonazepam is even stronger than xanax. Clonazepam 2mg = 40mg diazepam. If you Google benzodiazepines equivalents you'll get a table come up on one of the first options and it tells you every benzodiazepine equivalent. But teva are a good brand and if you get them by your genuine doctor then you're lucky. I'm not allowed them as all doctors in the uk are stopping it everywhere. Good brand always.

Correction: 1 mg of alprazolam (Xanax) is equivalent to 20 mg of diazepam.
1 mg of Ativan (lorazepam) is equivalent to 10 mg of diazepam.

A couple of months ago I got a small script for 5 mg diazepam and it worked very well for anxiety and muscle spasms. They were orange.
Today the ER gave another small script and I filled it at a different pharmacy; they are yellow and have been no help. Took one in the middle of the night and woke up a couple of hours later feeling like my body is burning up. Teva brand. Has anyone else had problems with it?

What does teva diazepam 2mg tab look like? As far as I can tell it's says teva on one side and a four digit number on other (ie 2964 or simpler). Are they definitely bad if the tablet doesn't have the markings on, or does teva update ie change markings time to time?

Hi,

I have used Valium from Roche for years now (10 mg/night for insomnia). No problem. A few months ago, I noticed that the taste of the blue pill had changed (disgusting) and I could not sleep anymore. Apparently, Roche has quietly sold Valium to lab Atnahs two years ago: box is still the same (without the brand name Roche), same notice, same excipients, but definitely not the same drug. I was able to find a few boxes of Valium Roche but now I am almost out and I have to switch to a generic drug. I have two choices: Diazepam Teva or Diazepam Arrow. Could you share your experience with me? Is Diazepam Teva a good option? Thanks!!
