Taking Subutex And Percocet Together (Page 4)

My doctor just put me on subutex along with percocet. I've been on percocet for yrs for severe and chronic migraines. He told me to take the subutex and if it doesn't work to take a percocet. I usually take 15 mg percocet at a time. I've read some stuff online that worries me. Some people say if you take percs with subutex you'll go into withdrawals. I went through severe withdrawals with fioricet months ago and I don't want to go through that hell again. I took my first subutex about an hour ago and I still have a migraine so I want to take a perc now. Can I do that or will I get sick?

I think subutex is way better then soboxen I'm on soboxen and have been for like 2 yrs off and on and when I first started getting off the dope they put me on subutex and I did so good until they started giving me soboxen and said subutex only if someone was pregnant so yea I have been relapsing off and on since. So if u can get subutex get it its great

God, you guys are all wrong. Subutex will NOT put you into withdrawals if you take any other opiate. Suboxone will only take you into withdrawals if you are doing an opiate IV. That is the only time the naxalone goes into effect. So if u are on suboxone and do not use an IV for the opiate, you will also be fine. Everyone out there needs to stop posting things while high cuz what has been stated makes no freaking sense.

I take suboxone for my pain from surgery and my cancer pain. My doctor i see is for multiple things. He perscribed me subutex at first then moved me to suboxone. Subutex is for pregnant or breastfeeding women or if your allergic to naloxone in the suboxone. Both subutex and suboxone work for pain and withdrawl. My chemo doctor perscribed me morphine sulfate, oxycotin, and roxycodones all in the same day. I decided i didnt want them so i had my other doctor up my suboxone. It works very well for the pain. Subutex is also perscribed for pain but it is also perscribed for withdrawl. Subutex was at one time the only withdrawl medication but to many people were overdosing that influenced them to come up with a med that u cant overdose on. Which is suboxone. The naloxone stays dormant if you place under tongue and let dissolve. If you try to inject or swallow the suboxone or take to much of it then thats what kicks the naloxone in and reverses the effect of the buepanorphrine which is in the suboxone and the subutex, but in the subutex it is alone without naloxone. So theres nothing to reverse the effect in the subutex if you were to take to overdose. Both the meds are for pain and withdrawl but they dont like giving the subutex unless needed because if you are perscribed it for withdrawl then it would really defeat the purpose of getting them. Its not really controlled like suboxone.

Naloxone will kick in more than just IV use. If you take to much suboxone it will kick in, like you said by IV naloxone will kick in also if you swallowed the suboxone tablet instead of dissolving under your tongue. Your stomach acid reacts with the naloxone and puts you into withdrawl. If your taking suboxone than you need to learn more about the meds before telling everyone else they are wrong when you are wrong. 95% of the replies are fairly accurate and then yours comes up basically telling everybody they are stupid and dont know what they are saying. If you did know than you would have put it down on your reply. So really your wrong and dont need to be putting the info down high or not high until you learn more about it and get it right. I have been taking for 6 years and through that time i read up and studied the meds i was putting into my body. You should do the same.

Can subutex be taken with Coumadin ? Please can someone help out with this as my husband just got out of the hospital for pulmonary embolism and deep vein thrombosis after three months between señor one ans naltrexone... Was also curious as to if these meds can cause these ailments...thanks so much for your help in advance :).

alright Im outta subutex 2 x 8mg /day and starting to get the flush hot cold feeling can I have hrdrocodone 5mg?? its been almost 36 hrs I kno im not gonna feel it but I dnt wanna even start getting sick.

You can take them together. I have documentation explaining it. Your doc is correct. Sometimes it will take about 3 times the dose of the perc to bump the sub off the receptor.

I only waited 10 hours after taking 80 mgs of percocet to take a 8 mg subutex. I didn't go into withdrawals. Good luck to you. I feel great, by the way.

****Best Answer***** Here is the best answer to the original question... Swim had 2 8mg Subutex and over the course of 6 days swim took them nasally, the last bit Swim took at 11 30 pm on day 6 .. On the seventh day Swim had no more Subutex, but Swim did have 2 Rox 30s... So Swim decided to smell half of one of the 30s around 2 pm, Swim did not feel much (which would be the case if Swim had not been using Subutex) So Swim ate Lunch and about 30 minutes after the first smell, Swim decided he was not feeling any worse, if anything Swim was feeling a little better. So Swim smelled the other half... 5 minutes later, Swim was Swimming in a pool of Euphoria and Swimming just fine, didn't even need his Swimmies to float. Swim guinea pigged himself for this specific question and Swim came out like Michael Phelps. Yes you can go swimming after Subutex, Just make sure you wait over 12 hours or a little more before Swimming. Swim Out!

u can take opiates with Subutex...Hell when I was in labor I was given pain shots and didnt go into w/d..Migranes can be induced by opiates, they also have great migrane pills that arent opiates that work WAYYYYYY better...I cant remember the name off hand of what I used to take for them, but it worked amamzing ! try that route ur dr will let you know all the non opiates for migranes...

Okay no, HERE'S the best answer. If you take a real opiate after Subutex OR Suboxone, depending on your dependence on the bupenorphine AKA subutex, one of two things will happen. If you've been using the bupenorphine for a long time, months or longer, basically nothing will happen. You won't feel much if anything at all from the opiate. Now if you've only been taking the bupenorphine AKA subutex for a few days and recreationally and then take an opiate, you'll feel it more than most likely. Where it gets bad is the opposite way around. Again, also depending on how long you've been using subutex. If you take subutex within 24-36 hours of your last use of opiates and you were a fairly heavy user, paws or pre anticipated withdrawal syndrome will kick in and you will want to die right there.

Moral of the story, take opiate after bupenorphine, doesn't really matter. Take bupenorphine after opiate, and you're screwed.

this is the most insane thing I've ever read. and this doctor, the one who prescribed u Percocet along with subutex has hopefully had his license revoked since. horrible withdrawal, doc didn't mention that? hopefully u didn't do that? I could not imagine.

They are all lost you CAN take perc with subutex u WILL NOT B SICK. IVE BEEN TAKING SUBUTEX AN SUBOXONE FOR YEARS IVE DONE SUBUTEX THEN 5 HRS LATER DID A HALF STRIP OF SUBOXONE AND DIDNT GET SICK... ITS ALL IN UR HEAD

it's because Tramadol (Ultram) works on the Norpenephrine and Seratonin part of your neurotransmitters, Much like an Anti-Depressant.
Tramadol changes the way you experience pain..

You guys dot know what the hell you are talkin about!!!! You can take ANY damn opiate (Percocet, Vicodin, methadone) ANYTHING after you take a subutex and still feel it just as if a person that didn't take subtex feels it!!! The main ingredient (can't spell it)lol does not have any effect on it. It's the SUBOXONE that has an opiate blocker which means you CAN'T abuse the actual suboxone itself. You can STILL take a Percocet or whatever and STILL feel it!!! The naloxoe in tr suboxone is there to make sure the person doesn't abuse that drug. I have been on it for 4 years and know everything you need to know about both of them and any pill out there!

I'm on heroin. I use about a half gram daily and the other night I said I'm done and waited about 3 hours and did a half a subutex. I usually can do that much no problem. Well I went into immediate withdrawls and I felt like I was dying I will never do a subutex again. You can not do that I don't care what Anybody says they are full of it or are just making up how much they do wether it's h or sub. The only way you can feel better is wait it out with time I did it at 10 pm and at aroun 1 am I did a shot of h and felt better not high and then I did some more around 11 but was still sick before I did it. I am just now feeling normal at 8 pm but not fully and I've been doing dope all day. Good luck.

Wrong. You're misinformed. The bupenorphine is what attaches to your opiate receptors, not allowing any other opiate to attach because the bupe is so strong. Bupenorphine is in Suboxone along with naloxone, which is what will send you into withdrawals if you try to abuse it. Otherwise it doesn't work because it's taken sublingually and swallowed. Subutex is just as effective as blocking opiates as Suboxone because it is the same thing, just no naloxone, which makes no difference unless you inject a strip. Ask a doctor. e

There is a reason why the Dr. gave you you Subutex w/percs.
These people dont know what they are talking about. the specific reason why subutex was given to you with an opiate. That is what they where designed for.
U can take an opiate the dr.s give it to patients during surgery and the use of opiates pain killers or after surgery.
It does not hut you these were designed to take them you are w/opiates.
