i have been on zomig for few years now it does not seem to be working any more? how can i get my doctor to change to sumavel?
Sumavel is a subcutaneous dosing system for the migraine medication Sumatriptan.
That said, this site does not sell nor prescribe anything, so to the original poster, I suggest you call your local CVS to ask if they carry it and check the pricing.
Gary, have you spoken to your doctor about this?

Sumavel Dose pro can be carried or ordered by most pharmacies, there are perscription savings cards availible for insured patients 6 doses for $15 a good deal. Talk to your doctor about the medicine, I am glad I did
I've had chronic migraines forever, and recently asked my doctor to look into this for me. I've using it for severe migraines for the past 4 months, and I love it. Prior to this medication I was using the imitrex injectible, but it is impossible to be steady handed with a migraine that bad, so the pain was bad. The Sumavel Dosepro injection is needle free and instant, so I don't have to worry about being shaky, and the results were incredible. This is the only medicine that I have ever found that can take my level 10 migraine down to a level 2 headache or less in 15 to 20 minutes. I don't have the fatigue side effects that I had with the imitrex injectible. I would love to see comments from other users of this medicine - it is fairly new so it has been very hard for me to find reviews on it.
Sumavel Dosepro User:_ I have been suffering with migraines for 19yrs and tried alot of tablets, injections and stress relief sessions but could not find a suitable product for my lifestyle! my doctor asked me to trial the dosepro device! i was shocked by how simple, effective and portable it is. At first I wasnt to sure if sumavel dosepro device was a suitable for me because of the cost but thought ill try the 4 samples he gave me and like you im totally glad i did! when my migraine started i shot a device in my leg and 8mins later i was back to my old self! like you pointed out imitrex injectible requires me to focus when using, which is difficult when my head hurts and i want to close my eyes an lay down so couldnt use it. i took asprin but they took 45min to an hour to work, dosepro takes around 8mins to clear my migraine. I recommend The Sumavel Dosepro injection to everyone who is in the same situation i was. My work, sports and family life is not effected anymore as i carry a device around with me. check your health insurance terms because mine covers me for 250 devices a year.
Fortunately my BlueCross covers 12 Sumavel Dosepro a month for a $15 co-pay. I am happy with it also. If it is not covered by your insurance, Yikes ! It is $109 a dose. FYI, this is the same drug (sumatriptan) as the imitrex injectible.
