I have an infected large bump on my calf. What is the extensive list of side effects for this medication?

Ive been having whole body aches, chills, night sweats, my lymph node in my neck is swollen and throbbing, i have enlarged lymph nodes in my armpit and behind my ear. I have the headache from hell and i am super tired 24 hrs/day. I called my dr to let them know im having a bad reaction and they told me to make an appointment for tomorrow or the next day. Is it more serious than that? Should i just go to the er? Is there anything that could help me end these symptoms early? I obviously stopped taking the pills but i still feel like crap. I was prescribed sulf/tri 800/160 twice a day for folliculitis.

I had a reaction to Sulfameth that isn't listed on any of the sites: I had been taking it for five days when I experienced difficulty in articulating words, putting complete sentences together, and fine-motor skills such as playing the piano and typing. My lips would twitch uncontrollably when I would talk, and I noticed that they also did when I would be thinking about what to type on the computer! I went off the med and regained most of my abilities within 24 hours. I still have slight stuttering, but it is decreasing. It was like poison to me!!

I have been taking this for 7 days already and just started feeling the itching, which is driving me crazy. I have been getting nausea and had a terrible fever over the weekend. I have been getting headaches too. I went and got some benadryl tonight, I hope it works!

This is the worst medicine I've ever taken and stayed on. My stomach has been upset for 10 days, and I've belched hundreds of times. I felt so bad I had to lie down most of every day. My hands trembled, and my intestines felt like someone had stomped on them. I've had headaches regularly. This is wicked stuff, and I'll NEVER take it again.

I have been taking the medication for about 3 days for a UTI. I feel like I'm about to crawl out of my skin. The itching is very intense. I only have 2 more days to take it. Should I just tuff it out or call the DR?

I took 1 pill and my left foot is swollen, itchy and red, and my lips are sooo red a swollen....almost like they burn...this medicine stinks!!

I was prescribed this for a infection in my tear duct . The same day I got home and felt like I had the flu or something body aches, tired , headache that wouldn't go away. Try to tell the eye dr. the next day but he didn't want to comment on it as long as the eye infection was going away. Yea, this antibo pill is very weird side effects. I still have constant headache, and now my joints in my elbows and legs are burning if I move them on second day of taking these pills, I think I'll take them one more day and just use the antibiotic eye drops! So, I'm glad I wasn't the only one for the headaches!

I was prescribed Sulf/Trimethoprim 800/160 twice a day for 2 weeks for a UTI and Kidney Infection. The first few days were fine, it was by the 6th day when I woke up feeling like I had a fever coming on along with pains across my whole back, neck, chills and headaches. By the 8th day the lymph node on the left side of my neck was throbbing and swollen to the point where I could not turn my head AT ALL, and was to sensitive to be touched. I then had what felt like a bad fever, my back hurt so much that I didn't know what to do with my self, I had no energy and my head felt like it was in a vice. So I had a feeling it could be the pills so I did an experiment and stopped taking them for 2 days. By the 11th day I felt fine! The following day I took the pill again and Felt the symptoms coming back So I completely stopped taking them. I am never going to take this Medication again. I believe there are plenty of other antibiotics out there, if this was taken off the market I'm sure it would NOt be missed.

i started taking this medicine three days ago for a UTI have to take 1 tablet by mouth twice a day for 10 days and it has been horrible i have had the worst headaches ever!! i have also had back pain not to much but a little. i feel that my face is on fire! i didnt know what was wrong with me but affter i read this i knew exactly where it was coming from they need to get rid of this medicine. i was vomiting the next morning after the first day taking it.

I have been on this med for aprox 4 days and I have had terrible headaches and nausea on the first night I got little sleep with vivid weard dreams 2nd night little sleep 3rd night i woke up and was shaking uncontrollable it lasted for about one hour and now today iam flushed in the face should i continue use?

I have been on trimetroprim for 5 days 200mg twice a day for 5 days for uti infection,by the 2nd day i was unable to sleep,had bad headaches,back pain,neck pain nausea,and couldnt concentrate terrible depresseion persevered for the next 3 days but will never take trimethoprim again.I hope it hasnt caused long term damage and whats the alternative

Headache, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dizziness,loss of appetite, muscle aches/pains, difficulty breathing,lower back pain,unusual weakness/tiredness, fever.... I have all of these from taking this medicine for my staph infection. I want to get back to wrestling, but these are blocking me from returning. What should i do?

I have been taking bactrim 2 a day 3 weeks and now I am taking 1 a day for 3 more weeks is this too much or not enough? My Dr.. prescribed this because I have bacteria in my urine. Thanks, Patricia

My mother is on a ventilator at home. Her doctor has prescribed this medicine sulfameth /tmp ds tab.
I am not sure I want to give this to her. She cannot communicate if she gets a headache also she is on a ventilator. The last thing she needs in my opinion is a medication that makes it difficult for her to breath. It is 800 mg. She only weighs 100 lbs and is suppose to take one tablet twice a day. I think the doctor made a mistake. Is there another drug that it is not so toxic on the organs. Thanks

I was prescribed Sulfameth/Trimethoprim 800/160 tabs to be taken twice a day. After the first dose, I awoke the next morning feeling weak and with my legs aching.
I took the morning dose and the symptoms got worse. After rereading the package insert, I realized that I was experiencing symptoms that required me to call the doctor immediately. While waiting for a reply I got a low grade fever, headache, my knees began intense aching as did my legs. It felt like the flu without the respiratory symptoms. I did not take the evening dose and when the doctor called this morning, I was switched to Nitrofurantoin Mono/Mac 100 mg twice a day. I've just taken the first dose, and the symptoms have not subsided from the first med. Does anyone have any experience with what I was switched to? I am being treated for a bladder infection. Thanks.

While taking this drug I suddenly vomited on three separate evenings, I didn't blame the drug as I was on it for not feeling well, BUT as soon as I finished the ten days I started to get achs and pains, would come home after worh and sleep for 6 hours, I would have sweets and chills, I would wake up drenched , then the RASH started, within days my whole body was covered. I went back to the Dr. yesterday, he looked quite concernned and ran all types of blood work, I'm still awaitting the results. He said it most likely is a reaction to this drug. I've nevr had a problem with anything I've ever talen in the past. This has been horriable !!!!!

I have been taking this medicine now I had an constant earache and my doctor prescribe me this..now I'm wondering if I should have even taken it I have difficult breathing and I'm itching from head to toe...is there any reason I should be taking this

Sulfameth / Trimethoprim 800mg; I'm have continuous rumbling bumbling in my stomach & lower track along with diarrhea & soft gassy stool. After food intake I feel bloated followed with stomach pains. I’ve reduced my intake to near zero with little help.

Was prescribed Sulfameth/Trimethoprim 800/160 tabs (generic AMNEAL version for Bactrim DS tablets). Took them for 4 days and the diahrea started. Contacted doctor and he said it was O.K. to continue. I did, then after completing the 7th day - - OMG! I began to feel major bloating in my stomach then the vomiting started! I have NEVER vomited so profusely in my entire life! It looked like coffee and I don't drink coffee! I thought I was gonna die! I haven't taken another pill since and a day later I'm still feeling a headache and I ache all over like I have the flu (which I know I don't) I will NEVER take this drug again and I will not finish the last 3 days of it. This drug is TOXIC, TOXIC, TOXIC!!!!! I do not recommend it to anyone! I was prescribed this drug due to swelling I noticed on my neck glands and some sores I noticed under my neck, which the doctor decribed as "staph." Wondering if I should take Benadryl just to get it out of my system.
